Top 2019 Long Snappers by Region

Here is a look at the TOP 2019 Long Snapper in each region of the country.

NORTHWEST (States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska)
Mike Zahara, WA
Super laid back kid. Didn’t get overly worked up about anything. Kept his cool and took instruction well. Thought it was a great sign from a kid of his age, not getting frazzled or frustrated. Really good form. Has long frame that can fill out nicely. Once he puts on some muscle and snaps hard, he will be great.

PACIFIC (California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii)
Simon Samarzich, CA
Simon had a good weekend at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He is a true athlete that can be as good, or great, as he chooses to be with his Long Snapping. Once he fully dedicates himself to snapping, he could easily take the top spot and run with it. Accuracy is solid and his form is excellent for his age. Handles pressure well and could have actually won the whole thing in the desert. Like to see some more speed on the ball and that will come with consistency of snapping motion and size. Tremendous potential on Simon.

SOUTHWEST (New Mexico and Texas)
Hayden Hood, TX
Hood was excellent at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in TX on July 7, 2016. He is one of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class and showed no mercy in TX. His confidence is starting to come along VERY nicely and I love it. Needs to make sure he is focus on gaining some size as that will assist him in blocking, getting down field and the overall speed of the ball. Kid is very good and just looks to get better. Keep a very close eye on him this fall and definitely at VEGAS XXIX.

NORTH CENTRAL (North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska)
Tyler Shaw, WI
Really liked what I saw out of Tyler at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in IL on July 9, 2016. He is a long athlete that is snapping with good power and confidence. Love to see him focus on leaning back more so he goes towards the punter and not up/forward. Falling forward will cause the ball to rise a bit and lose some accuracy. Kid has tremendous upside and can easily be one of the top Long Snappers in his class. WATCH HIM at VEGAS XXIX.

SOUTH CENTRAL (Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana)
Caden Bolz, KS
Caden did well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in TX on July 7, 2016. He is a thick and strong Long Snapper with good power in his hands. Ball is quick and he has no problem hovering in the .8s at all times. By VEGAS XXIX, I want to make sure he is getting his eyes/head all the way through as this will greatly increase the overall speed of the ball AND the accuracy. Kid is dripping with potential.

MID AMERICA (Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky)
Jude Pedrozo, OH
Jude continues to impress me and didn’t let up at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in IL on July 9, 2016. He can pass an eyeball test quickly and is snapping with a great deal of confidence. The upside on this kid is off the charts and he could make the TOP 12 in January if he continues to snap well. Overall accuracy and consistency is what I will be focused on seeing at VEGAS XXIX. He needs to know he can be one of the greats.

NORTHEAST (Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island)
Austin Sullivan, NY
I liked what I saw out of Austin at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He is very large Long Snapper for his age and has a good snapping motion. Very fluid Long Snapper. I like his form and I want him to trust it. If he was to trust his form and really let the ball fly, he will be able to get well under .90 by fall and definitely by XXIX in January. TONS OF POTENTIAL on Austin and when his legs get fully locked and timed up, he will dominate. LOVE HIS ATTITUDE.

ATLANTIC (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia)
Dominic Serapiglia, PA
Dominic did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in NC on July 11, 2016. He is a thick and strong Long Snapper with good overall form. Ball is tight and he is showing some good accuracy. Like to see him increase the speed of his legs as they are just a tad behind his very quick hands. If he can get his timing locked down, he will be snapping under .77 by VEGAS XXIX…easily. Increasing his athleticism will push him way up the rankings as well. Good upside and always improving.

SOUTHEAST (Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida)
Quentin Skinner, GA
Skinner, AKA Mad Dog, had a solid weekend at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He can EASILY snap a D1 ball right now when he is on. Every once in awhile, he will forget to follow through and the ball will die. If he can fix that, and I know he can, he can be a 5 Star Rubio Long Snapper by next Vegas if not sooner. CONSISTENCY will be his biggest thing to focus on.

Recap of the PA Fall Camp (10/9/16)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to Pennsylvania on October 9th, 2016 for their fall camp and it had the most overall talent at a camp in quite some time. Rubio Long Snapping will be traveling the country this fall instructing Long Snappers and getting them all ready for the biggest event of the year, VEGAS XXIX!

Long Snappers from nine different states all traveled to get the best instruction and the most exposure possible for Long Snapping.

kasey-kelleher6065-1The overall camp champion was Kasey Kelleher (’17)! Kasey was on fire all day throwing back pearl after pearl. He won the speed competition with consistent snaps in the .6s and his accuracy is off the charts. Built with solid thickness and has a great mental attitude. Handles pressure well and never stops improving. He did a great job to beat Billy Taylor to win the championship and earn a free admission to VEGAS XXIX!

You can actually watch the finals between Kasey Kelleher and Billy Taylor below from the live feed on the Rubio Long Snapping Periscope.

The next stop for Rubio Long Snapping will be WA in two weeks with CA following one week later.

Top 2017 Long Snappers

img_2656Billy Taylor not only was the accuracy champion, he was on fire all day in PA. He is a VERY smooth and calm Long Snapper that has a nice frame with room to put on some lbs in the next year. Ball is tight and the harder he snaps, the better it looks. Great improvement since the TOP 12 Camp at IMG Academy in FL. He is really coming along and finding his groove. Billy could easily dominate VEGAS XXIX.

Kyle O’Connor looked VERY smooth in PA. His hands are like absolute rockets and it is almost hard to time him. He has a really methodical set up but then BOOM! he explodes on the snap. Very solid Long Snapper that can catch a groove and dominate.

Kevin Crabtree, the recent Villanova commit, is a large Long Snapper with good power and an accurate snap. Crabtree is right on the cusp of greatness and once his butt is a bit lower, he will dominate speed. Kid is good and knocking on greatnesses door.

NOTABLES: Ryan Walker

Top 2018 Long Snappers

james-rosenberry6604James Rosenberry looked very sharp in PA. Ball is very tight and hovers right in the .7s consistently at all times. Accuracy is solid. Really want him to focus on his athleticism as we gear towards VEGAS XXIX and he pushes himself to get into the TOP 12 Camp.

Alex Mykut is a newcomer and showed great potential. Right now, he is very raw and pretty much all over the place BUT he is absolutely dripping with potential. Smoothing out his snapping motion can make him one of the best in his class. With the right work, he could be a top kid at VEGAS XXIX.

Zach Drevno looked pretty sharp in PA. Built well and has a lot of power. The harder he snaps and the more he trusts his form, the better he will do in the long run.

NOTABLES: Evan Jennings, Brendan Moyer, Breck Gates

Top 2019 Long Snappers

austin-sullivan7162Austin Sullivan is sitting on a mound of potential in a great frame. Basically looks like a college Long Snapper right now. Snapping the ball with full power and trusting his form will make his a great one in his class. Upside is off the charts.

Brandon Hurst has good potential and a nice, long frame. He moves really on his feet and has raw talent. Should be able to tie everything together to push for a TOP 12 Camp spot at VEGAS XXIX.

Dominic Serapiglia showed waves of greatness in PA. Built thick and he has good strength. CONFIDENCE in his snapping ability will help a ton. Needs to believe in himself and not get stressed as we get past ten yards. Good upside.

Mike Wojciechowski is growing and getting more and more smooth as the camps progress. Handles pressure really well and has a glorious spiral on the ball. Size and strength will push him up the ladder. Form is great and his attitude is even better.

NOTABLES: Donte Eldridge,

Recap of the NJ Spring Camp (5/7)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to New Jersey on May 7th, 2016 for their spring camp.

Long Snappers from CT, MA, MD, NJ, NY OH, PA, and VA all traveled to learn from the best instruction and the most exposure possible for Long Snapping.

The overall camp champion was Nick Tibbetts (CT, ’18)! Nick won the accuracy part of the competition and fended off Kasey Kelleher (OH, ’17) – also the horse in the competition – in the championship round. Nick is a big, strong long snapper who was very accurate and all over the Rubio Zone all day. He wasn’t rattled by the pressure and scored back to back snaps to win. Nick showed a ton of potential through the whole day and capped the camp off nicely!

2016

Chris Sayan

Chris Sayan

Chris Sayan (NJ) showed some very good speed and accuracy during the competition round and snapping live to punters after. Recently committed to Princeton, Sayan has all of the tools to be a great one down the road. VERY consistent Long Snapper that snaps a catchable ball.

Dylan Nadeau (MA) improved a tremendous amount throughout the day and showed a lot of promise with his great follow through and attitude. Flexibility was very solid and he has good upside.

2017

Kasey Kelleher

Kasey Kelleher

Kasey Kelleher (OH) was the top 2017 Long Snapper at the camp. He was snapping bullets all day (was timed in the mid to high .6s!) and almost came back to win the whole competition from the speed round. Kasey is one of the top ranked Long Snappers in his class and after his performance it is clear why.

Billy Taylor (NJ) had the best form at the camp, and was snapping pearls all day. He has started to put on quality weight and his ball has really picked up a lot of speed. His accuracy continues to be solid and he is really growing into a high quality snapper.

Ryan Cassidy (NJ). He is a very athletic Long Snapper who processes a lot of speed and power. I don’t think he realizes how hard he snaps, and because of this aims a little higher than he has to, but once he gets that release down he will be dangerous.

Notables: Harry Blair, Zach Cannon, Mike Colantuouno, Brian Keating, Jonathan O’Brien

2018

Jack Hadley

Jack Hadley

Jack Hadley (NJ) has busted onto the scene as of late. He is a very big long snapper, but is so smooth in his snapping motion. It almost looks effortless for him as the ball hums back to the punter. Really excited to see Jack continue to grow and compete in upcoming camps.

James Rosenberry (OH) was snapping pearls all day at the New Jersey camp. His form is almost as perfect as they come, and uses it to generate great speed and a tremendous spiral. Once he fills out a little bit he will be ready for the next level.

Michael Vojvodich (VA) made a lasting first impression at the camp. Very long frame and good athlete who snaps a very nice tight spiral with good accuracy. If he can tidy up his form and get rid of his little hitch he will be fun to watch.

Notables: Scott Lavelle, Ty Cobb

2019

Dom Serapiglia

Dom Serapiglia

Dominic Serapiglia (PA) showed a ton of potential for his age. Very big body and snaps a very smooth ball. Needs to get set and stop wiggling his fingers so much before his snap, but very small tweaks and he will be very good. Athleticism will be key to him really moving up the charts down the road. Good upside and works hard.

Notables: Evan Davis, John Morton, Austin Mosier

2020

Connor Rhinehart (PA) shows a ton of passion when it comes to long snapping. Extremely attentive to all instruction and holds his own against older competition. Only time will tell how great he can be.

Recap Article of the TX Camp (12/13/15)

12391287_921552401254224_870802184849155520_n
Rubio Long Snapping traveled to TX on December 13th for their fall camp. The camp had the most talent, from top to bottom, of any Texas camp I have ever had in the last ten years.

Long Snappers came out from TX, KS, LA, CO, AZ, OH, MO, PA, MI, OK, AR, NM and even CA to learn from the best and get the most exposure possible for Long Snapping.

The overall winner of the camp was EVENT ELITE member Travis Arroyo (TX, ’16). Travis is a massive Long Snapper with great athleticism, good flexibility and great form. Wonderful attitude and demeanor as well. So large and powerful that he might be able to play two positions in college as he is quite the dominant lineman.

TOP 2016 LONG SNAPPERS:

Geron Eatherly was the best 2016 Long Snapper in attendance. He is BEYOND smooth and accurate. ALWAYS is either in the finals or right next to them. Very accurate and he is gaining some good size. He will be a great pickup for a college coach.

  • Dylan Alexander

    Dylan Alexander

Dylan Alexander was VERY impressive in TX. Long time Rubio Long Snapper that has really improved over the past year. Was snapping in the .6s. Looking very solid right now.

  • Alex Edwards continues to move up the ladder and get better. Power is solid and he is built thick.
  • Kolin Hayes showed very good accuracy and poise.
  • Conner Hemphill has some of the quickest hands in the country. Lots of potential.
  • Greg Royal might be the smoothest Long Snapper in the country. Very accurate
  • James Kozachenkzo can snap the ball with great power and accuracy. CONSISTENCY will be the next hurdle. Watch him.
  • Gabe Skrobot keeps doing his thing and moving right along. Unlimited potential on the Skrobot.

Notables: Aron Bonham, Tristan Thompson, Colt Poole, Trenton Givens, Eric Ryan

TOP 2017 LONG SNAPPERS:

Thomas Fletcher left no doubt he is the best 2017 Long Snapper in the country. He handles pressure as well as anyone I have ever had and has ZERO wasted movement when he snaps the ball. Efficiency of his snapping motion is off the charts. Kid is ready for college right now.

  • Kyle Gibbs

    Kyle Gibbs

Kyle Gibbs showed me some absolute raw power in TX. Came out from CA and didn’t disappoint. Kid’s hands are like rockets. He is almost “there”

  • Jeremiah Riordan is really moving up the ladder lately. You can tell he has been working on his overall form. Looking very solid. I would be VERY surprised to see him not dominate VEGAS XXVII.
  • Jake Pagel is just a flat out machine with his snapping. He is always great and just keeps getting better. Silent assassin.
  • Drew Wise has TONS of upside and can get the ball moving quickly back to the punter. Watch him closely at VEGAS XXVII.

Notables: Caleb Cantrell, Benji Gormley, Jarrod Jacobson, Justin Hathoot, Justyce Hankins, Jared Reeves, Steven Taylor, Ethan Zenzen

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS:

Zach Edwards made a very strong case to be the #1 Long Snapper for the country in his class. Body is coming along nicely and he has tremendous form. Kid can rip the ball back to the punter. Doesn’t say much, but doesn’t need to. I am very interested to see how he does in VEGAS with a little more pressure thrown at him.

  • Randen Plattner

    Randen Plattner

Randen Platter was VERY accurate and handled pressure well. Solid frame that will be able to hold more weight. Good kid.

  • Joseph Ramos is a massive man with great form and power. Tons of upside and definitely one to watch.

Notables: Evan Gibson, Paul Madison, Will Gerrish, Hunter Becker

TOP 2019 LONG SNAPPERS:

Hayden Hood was the best 2019 Long Snapper in attendance. He has been working with Rubio Long Snapping staff member John Finch and it was apparent that the lessons have paid off. Kid is athletic and has a great, blasé attitude that makes him handle pressure well. TONS of upside.

  • Luke Rizzo

    Luke Rizzo

Luke Rizzo came out of nowhere and showed me some great things. Very impressive first camp for him. Watch him over the years.

  • Dominic Serapiglia has good form and a great attitude. Increasing his strength will help as we progress.

Notables: Ross Arroyo, John Farris, Tre’Von Lovelace,
