Recap of the TOP 12 Camp

The Rubio Long Snapping TOP 12 Camp was on July 17-19, 2017 and featured, quite possibly, the most talented group of Long Snappers to ever come through the system. There was Long Snappers committed to school such as Virginia Tech, Colorado State, Air Force along with offers from Oregon, Marshall, you know what, it might be easier just to show you….

This TOP 12 camp was different from years past as 20 Long Snappers were chosen from the January Vegas Event, 20 were chosen from the May Vegas Event along with five wild cards. All of these terrific Long Snappers competed against one another to see who the actual TOP 12 would be on Wednesday. As if that wasn’t enough pressure, the whole thing was going to be filmed for a new web series called the TOP 12 Series!

So, we still had the annual belly flop contest with the kickers (I am choosing not to think about the outcome so we will move past it) and the night out on the town with the kids to see how they handle themselves socially. That was the same, but the exit interviews were different where we actually met with each Long Snapper and let them know right then and there if they had earned the TOP 12 gold shirt! You want to talk about stressful for them and myself.

If you are looking to see all of the photos put up by Nick Monaghan, I highly recommend checking out his website. He is the best in the business and took thousands of photos over the three day span to provide the most exposure for the Long Snappers.

Great shot by Nick Monaghan in the War Room during one of the exit interviews.

After all of the snapping, dinner, socializing, and interviews, the TOP 12 Long Snappers in the country were (in alphabetical order)…

Karsten Battles
Cade Long
Antonio Ortiz
Marco Ortiz
Roen McCullough
Kyle Petrucci
Gabriel Pugh
John Raines
Ross Reiter
Simon Samarzich
Oscar Shadley
Quentin Skinner

The overall camp champion was Oscar Shadley. The Virginia Tech commit left no doubt he was the top overall Long Snapper of the group with incredible athleticism. His ball seemed to get quicker and more powerful as the days progressed. No matter what was thrown at him, Shadley dominated.

Here is a detailed recap of each TOP 12 Long Snapper followed by a quick write up on all that attended as they are all deserving of recognition.

Karsten Battles – Thick, strong and powerful Long Snapper that locks in and rarely misses. Very detail oriented Long Snapper that is like a machine out on the field. He already holds several offers and will make any college coach happy over the next couple years.

Cade Long is one of the most efficient Long Snappers in the country. Rarely, and I mean very rarely, has a bad ball. Accuracy and consistency are his strengths. Body is getting bigger and stronger. Overall, a tremendous Long Snapper.

Antonio Ortiz – might have the most potential of any Long Snapper that has ever gone through Rubio Long Snapping. Antonio has an absolute tremendous frame and runs like wind. Type of Long Snapper that could play for the next twenty years. If he puts his mind to it, he could be the best to come out of Rubio Long Snapping.

Marco Ortiz – simply duplicate what I said for Antonio. Marco is a little less polished that Antonio at this point but still has just as much upside. Both are full easy scholarship picks and any coach would be lucky to have them.

Roen McCullough – Strong and powerful Long Snapper that can snap a ball right through the punter. Kid is a machine on the field and works like a horse to be the best. Handing pressure really well and love is attitude.

Kyle Petrucci – He continues to improve athletically and with his snapping. Still has some slight issues with getting his upper body all the way through but his overall size is so dominant, that it can be overlooked. When he really drives his upper body through, he can put the ball in the low .7s and right in The Rubio Zone. Smart Long Snapper with tons of upside.

Gabriel Pugh – a 2019 Long Snapper that has one of the most powerful snaps I have ever witnessed. His ball almost feels like a wet, heavy ball about to break your hands. Built like a college tight end and he still has two years left of high school. Upside for him is off the charts and I love his attitude.

John Raines – Quick hands and a very crisp ball that really flies out of his hands. Recent Ole Miss commit never stops improving and is always right in the finals but no one really ever notices. Excellent Long Snapper that is truly dedicated to his craft.

Ross Reiter – Great personality along with being a tremendous Long Snapper makes Reiter one of the best recruits of his class. Ball is beyond tight and always right on target. Body is improving by the second and he has one of the most crisp and precise balls you will ever encounter.

Simon Samarzich – extremely athletic 2019 Long Snapper that snaps a smooth and consistent ball. The more he works on his craft, the better he will be. Coming out of his shell with his snapping and his personality is making Simon a major recruit over the next couple of years.

Oscar Shadley – He left literally no doubt he is the top Long Snapper in the country. Incredibly impressed with how well he handles adversity and just gets better with more pressure. Ball is beyond fast with snap speeds under .65 and he just gets more accurate with the more snaps he takes.

Quentin Skinner – 2019 Long Snapper that could end up being the best to roll through Rubio Long Snapping. Extremely strong athlete that looks like a college linebacker and is as strong as one (already can bench 400 lbs!). I have watched Mad Dog snap in tons of camps and he was the best I have seen him this good. Just flat out awesome!

Rest of the best in alphabetical order…..

Ryan Aguilar – Athletic with tons of potential. Smoothing out the consistency will make him a sure fire recruit.

Matt Aloni – Thick bodied and smooth Long Snapper that can be the best in the upper east coast….easily.

Brock Assel – Air Force commit with tons of power and a solid attitude. Locking down his accuracy puts him at the top.

Brenden Bentley – Snapped a powerful ball with good consistency. Locking down his spiral and quickness will push him up the ladder.

Jac Casasante – One of the fastest Long Snappers with his ball and feet in the country.

Gabriel Cervantes – Long, pure athlete with tons of upside. Smoothing it all out will get him to the top.

AJ Covan – He might be the most accurate Long Snapper to ever go through Rubio Long Snapping. Made it to the finals and literally just doesn’t miss The Rubio Zone. If you are looking for pure accuracy, there is literally no one better.

Zach Drevno – Thick and strong Long Snapper that has improved a ton over the past year. Continuing to lead with his elbows with create more overall speed on the ball. Tremendous attitude.

Payton Dunagan – Incredibly flexible Long Snapper that hands the ball to the punter. Locking down his spiral will be huge for Payton.

Evan Dvorchik – Great competitor with a solid snap. The tighter his body gets and more athletic he becomes, the more of a full fledged recruit he becomes.

Zach Edwards – One of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class. Smooth and consistent. The more confidence he gets, the more dominant he becomes.

Ron Gaines – Massive Long Snapper with a smooth ball that has solid accuracy and consistency . Snapping with full power and increasing his athleticism makes him top dog.

Evan Gibson – He is improving drastically and is already one of the top Long Snappers in his class. More overall speed pushes him to the top.

Maddie Golden – incredible Long Snapper that can rip the ball back to the punter. Also overflowing with an amazing personality. Easily the top of Long Snapper that could dominate on and off the field.

Kameron Hawkins – Late invite to the TOP 12 Camp and it was well deserved. Only a 2020 Long Snapper but already is snapping at D1 speeds and accuracy. Athleticism and strength will be huge. No one works harder and smarter.

Dillon Hayes – Incredibly accurate and consistent Long Snapper. Locking down his spiral is the key to greatness.

Hayden Hood – Athletic Long Snapper with massive upside. Getting bigger and more powerful is going to be key for Hood.

Noah Howell – Might be the most improved Long Snapper in his class over the past year. Built thick and strong. Great upside.

Clay James – Recent University of Miami commit is beyond accurate and consistent with his snaps. Strength with his snaps and consistency of speed will be huge for Clay.

Jarrett Key – Looked solid and was impressive. Overall strength is going to be huge for Key advancing up the rankings.

Drew Little – Easily one of the top 2019 Long Snappers in his class. Strong with a very a efficient snap. If his spiral was completely locked down, he would have had a TOP 12 spot.

Chance Nelson – Massive upside on this Long Snapper that is a tremendous JC athlete. Kid flies down the field and is a massive factor on punt coverage. Making sure his ball is spiraling is the key.

Jude Pedrozo – Thick and strong Long Snapper that will be as good as he wants to be. Confidence with his snapping will be huge. Incredible personality that can dominate a team.

Randen Plattner – One of the most impressive Long Snappers at the camp and right on the cusp of making the TOP 12. Consistency of speed is the key for Randen.

Austin Riggs – Long Snapper that rises to the level of competition around him. Great personality that is going to be successful in whatever he chooses to do.

Luke Rizzo – Overall dedication is going to be key Rizzo.

Michael Vinson – Really impressed with Vinson’s attitude and snaps. Making sure his spiral is fully locked down and continuing to build on his strength will be key.

Nathan Weneta – athletic Long Snapper that was very close to making the TOP 12. Increasing his overall strength and confidence will be huge for him as we go through the next couple of years.

Jax Wilson – Incredible upside and he could easily end up being one of the top Long Snappers in his class. Smoothing out his snapping motion will be huge for Jax.

Jacob Zuhr – 2020 Long Snapper that left no doubt he is the best in his class with his powerful snaps that can easily hit sub .70 and he is only going to be a sophomore!!!

The overall camp champion was John Raines of MS. Raines got fire in the afternoon and hit three after three after three to claim the title of champion! His form is good and he was snapping with some good pop back to the punter. He also came in second place in the speed competition! Easily one of the best days Raines has had in front of me. Very impressed and so will college coaches if he continues at this pace.

The finals were between Karsten Battles (86.96), Zach Edwards (57.33), John Raines (53.42), Hayden Hood (50.65), Evan Gibson (40.74) and Nate McCormack (26.26). The full finals video can be seen below…

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS

Karsten Battles

Karsten Battles absolutely destroyed the RSI beating the previous high RSI score by over 20 points. He literally scored every single point you could and averaged under .70 for each snap! Battles ended up being the overall speed champ of the camp. This kid is ready for college…NOW!

Evan Gibson looked very smooth and strong throughout the day in TX. Confidence is starting to come along nicely and his accuracy is solid. Always improving and the kid is a workhorse.

Cole Voyles was impressive in TX with good speed and solid hip movement through the agility section. Built long and has room to put on some good weight over the next year.

Dillon Hayes showed good accuracy and consistency. Really driving his chest through will pick up his speed and make him a top Long Snapper.

Tre Rubio was snapping pearls all day long in TX. Form is good and his spiral is on point. Very impressed with Tre’s improvement over the last year.

Tyler Springer showed great athleticism and quick hands getting the ball back to the punter.

Zach Edwards is one of the smoothest and most consistent Long Snappers in his class. Major athlete and he just keeps getting better. Hands are rockets and the ball is at college level speed right now!

John Raines was throwing incredible heat all day in TX. Form is good and he is using his whole body really well. Love his improvement and if he can get his spiral locked down at VEGAS 30 in May, he could easily be a TOP 12 Camp member.

Evan Gibson continues to improve and impress me. Moving well on his feet and snapping with confidence. The harder he snaps, the better he does. Great attitude and upside.

Tre Rubio had a great camp and has done an incredible job of improving over the years. Ball is VERY smooth  and extremely catchable. Tight spiral and his form is almost perfect.

Top 2018 Long Snappers by Region

Here is a look at the TOP 2018 Long Snappers in each region of the country.

NORTHWEST (States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska)
Spencer Luce, WA
Spencer showed me some good things at the Rubio Long Snapping spring camp in WA on April 24, 2016. He is a Long Snapper with nice, large frame and has the ability to snap the ball with excellent power. I REALLY need to see him snap the ball with a tight spiral. Ball comes back quick and hard BUT if there is no spiral, it will be very tricky to catch for the punters. Spiral is going to be key. He locks it down and he moves way up the charts.

PACIFIC (California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii)
Ross Reiter, AZ
Reiter did really well at the TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE Camp at the IMG Academy in FL. I purposely put him under a lot of pressure situations and he dominated all of them. Ball is beyond crisp and just gorgeous to watch. He always does an excellent job of making sure he accomplished what you want him to do. Ask Reiter to do something and just consider it done. Built strong and tough. He is very close to a 5 Star Rubio Long Snapper.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN (Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado)
Jesse Hooper, UT
Hooper showed me some great things at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He moves with good aggression on his feet. Like to see him increase his 40 time a bit but the kid moves with passion and rage….I love it. Love to see him focus on locking down his spiral and leading with his elbows to create more whip. With as much power as he snaps with, he should EASILY be under .80 but the lack of spiral really crushed the speed. TONS of upside and he is right on the cusp. Keep a very close eye on this kid.

SOUTHWEST (New Mexico and Texas)
Karsten Battles, TX
Battles did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in TX on July 7, 2016. He is a Long Snapper with good athleticism that can be a factor going downfield on punt coverage. He can pass an eyeball test quickly and already looks the part of a college athlete. Love to see him focus on really getting set and making sure he doesn’t rush the process. Tends to jump the gun a bit and that will play with his spiral and accuracy. Kid is dripping with potential and can easily be one of the best in his class. Watch him at VEGAS XXIX.

NORTH CENTRAL (North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska)
Ross Hinders, IA
Hinders did really well at the TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE Camp at the IMG Academy in FL. He is a very athletic Long Snapper that moves well on his feet. Starting form is solid and he does a good job of getting his lower half fully involved in the snapping process. Like to see him lean back a bit more to make sure he doesn’t fall forward which can impact his accuracy and consistency. Getting fully set and leaning back while continuing to put on size will move him up. Quiet and deadly with his snaps.

SOUTH CENTRAL (Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana)
Evan Gibson, LA
Evan did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in TX on July 7, 2016 and at the Underclassmen Invitational at the IMG Academy in FL. Body is looking very solid and he is built strong. Mature for his age. He has some very quick hands that really get the ball out of the gate quickly. Love to see him focus on slow motion drills to make sure he gets his lower half fully involved to gain more speed on the ball. With his frame and form, he could easily be under .8 by XXIX.

MID AMERICA (Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky)
Roen McCullough, OH
Roen did well at the TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE Camp at the IMG Academy in FL. Body is great and, when he is on, he can put a hole in the punter. He can easily be the fastest Long Snapper in the country for his age or the year above him. Making sure he is not over-gripping the ball so his spiral stays perfect and handling pressure will be the two biggest factors I check for this fall and at VEGAS XXIX in January. The ball is in Roen’s court and I know he can do it. When it clicks, he will take the top spot and it won’t be close.

NORTHEAST (Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island)
Matthew Aloni, NY
Big jump in the rankings and well deserved for Aloni after watching him at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in NC on July 11, 2016. Snaps are crisp, clean and very catchable. Form is solid and his body is able to pass an eyeball test quickly. Very good upside on Aloni. Love to see him focus on snapping with total CONFIDENCE and making sure he is whipping his arms through to create more overall speed on the ball. Like to see him under .78 by this fall and VEGAS XXIX.

ATLANTIC (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia)
Michael Vojvodich, VA
Michael did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in NC. He is a VERY athletic Long Snapper that can fly downfield. Absolute factor on punt coverage and can be a game changer in coverage. Form is solid and he snaps with good power. Love to see him focus on completely locking down his spiral by VEGAS XXIX and making sure he is always going back instead of up and back, at times. Massive upside and I love what I see from Michael. Keep a close eye on him….TOP 12?????

SOUTHEAST (Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida)
Oscar Shadley, FL, Offer to Marshall!
Shadley did really well at the TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE Camp at the IMG Academy in FL. First off, his frame is excellent for his age…he practically looks like he could play in college right now. Upside on him at this point is off the charts. Ball is accurate, he has good speed and he handles pressure well. Locking down the spiral and making sure he is fully in control of his consistency moves him into the top spot by XXIX in January.

Recap of the TX Summer Camp (7/7/16)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to Texas on July 7th, 2016 for their summer camp. Rubio Long Snapping will be back in Texas on December 4th. You can register for that event HERE.

Long Snappers from TX, LA, MS, SC, KS, OK & NM all traveled to learn from the best instruction and the most exposure drew-wise6289possible for Long Snapping.

The overall camp champion was DREW WISE (KS, ’17)! Drew was absolutely on fire all day long and was actually my horse going into the finals. Unlike many before him, the pressure of being “chosen” as the horse did not impact him and he was dominant. He barely lost the accuracy portion, came back to win the speed competition and was nails in the overall. He has great size and snaps a D1 ball right now. Consistency will be huge for him as we head into the TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE camp!

2017

jake-pagel6287Jake Pagel (TX) had a good ending to the camp. He has some of the quickest hands you will see in his class and the ball rockets back to the punter. Body is thick and he can hover in the high .6s for punts.

Caleb Cantrell (TX) was excellent all day long. He has some very quick hands and the ball really rips back to the punter. Love to see some more size on him and completely lock down the spiral. He is a very solid Long Snapper.

Reeves Blankenship (LA) had waves of brilliance in TX. When he is on, he is REALLY on. Incredible size and I love the upside on this kid from LA. Keep a very close eye on him. It is all about to click for Reeves.

Joseph Cotton (AZ) was solid in TX. Built long and has a frame that will be incredible in college. Ball can pop back to the punter. Needs to focus on not dragging the ball and making sure he is using all of his lower to get more consistent speed on the ball. Major upside on Joe.

NOTABLES: Noah Caldwell, Steven Taylor, Dominic Brocato, Jarrod Jacobson, Justyce Hankins

2018

evan-gibson6264Evan Gibson (LA) had a great day in TX. Body is strong and he is getting bigger. Hovers right in the low .8s but it is all starting to click for him now. Keep a very close eye on Evan as we get close to VEGAS XXIX.

Hunter Burson (NM) has good form and I like his attitude. He is almost there. Listens well and is coming along nicely. He can do this.

John Raines (MS) has seemed to have found his spiral and that is going to help a lot. His hands are quick and the ball seems to just appear to the punter. Good upside.

Dillon Hayes (MS) has excellent form and is coachable. Uses his whole body well and will dominate with more confidence.

Tre Rubio (TX) has improved a ton over the past year and looks to just keep heading up. Body is getting stronger and his ball can hover in the high .7s. More athleticism and power will move him him up even more.

Karsten Battles (TX) can pass an eyeball test from 50 yards away and is absolutely dripping with potential. Very athletic and built well. CONSISTENCY will be key for Battles moving up by XXIX.

Notables: Braden Thibodeaux, Austin Ortega, Chris Logan

2019hayden-hood7288

Hayden Hood (TX) quickly separated himself to show the TX camp that he was, by far, the best 2019 Long Snapper in attendance. Kid can fly downfield and is a definite factor in punt coverage. Hips are very solid. Form is coming along nicely and he is headed toward growth. Watch him.

Nate McCormack (TX) handles pressure very well and has great form. Starting to grow which is going to be great for him but bad for the rest of his class. Great attitude.

2020

IMG_0526Blake Hooker (TX) has been with Rubio Long Snapping for quite some time and it is quite apparent. Form is excellent and he is already starting to separate himself from the pack. Great attitude and listens well.

KEY POINTS:

  • My rankings are NOT done just from The Rubio Target and will always be announced when they are completed on social media. For summer camps, they have been promised by October 1, 2016 due to the amount of travel Rubio Long Snapping will have to do.
  • My rankings are NOT done from some mathematical formula.
  • My rankings ARE done by me and my several select member of my senior staff. That is why they take a good amount of time. (Think of it this way, it takes MONTHS to build a Rolls Royce but only hours to build an average car)
  • My rankings are based off of this blog I wrote about what makes a Long Snapper great.
  • If you would like anything added to your profile page, simply email me (Rubio@RubioLongSnapping.com) the information and consider it done.
  • All Long Snappers are ranked after their first fall camp of their freshman year in high school.

A Long Snapper has the ability to adjust their ranking anytime I see them LIVE, not on video.

For the profiles section, simply go to RubioLongSnapping.com. click PLAYER PROFILES, click which class, click LONG SNAPPERS and find your name.

2016 Spring Camps

Recap Article of the TX Camp (12/13/15)

12391287_921552401254224_870802184849155520_n
Rubio Long Snapping traveled to TX on December 13th for their fall camp. The camp had the most talent, from top to bottom, of any Texas camp I have ever had in the last ten years.

Long Snappers came out from TX, KS, LA, CO, AZ, OH, MO, PA, MI, OK, AR, NM and even CA to learn from the best and get the most exposure possible for Long Snapping.

The overall winner of the camp was EVENT ELITE member Travis Arroyo (TX, ’16). Travis is a massive Long Snapper with great athleticism, good flexibility and great form. Wonderful attitude and demeanor as well. So large and powerful that he might be able to play two positions in college as he is quite the dominant lineman.

TOP 2016 LONG SNAPPERS:

Geron Eatherly was the best 2016 Long Snapper in attendance. He is BEYOND smooth and accurate. ALWAYS is either in the finals or right next to them. Very accurate and he is gaining some good size. He will be a great pickup for a college coach.

  • Dylan Alexander

    Dylan Alexander

Dylan Alexander was VERY impressive in TX. Long time Rubio Long Snapper that has really improved over the past year. Was snapping in the .6s. Looking very solid right now.

  • Alex Edwards continues to move up the ladder and get better. Power is solid and he is built thick.
  • Kolin Hayes showed very good accuracy and poise.
  • Conner Hemphill has some of the quickest hands in the country. Lots of potential.
  • Greg Royal might be the smoothest Long Snapper in the country. Very accurate
  • James Kozachenkzo can snap the ball with great power and accuracy. CONSISTENCY will be the next hurdle. Watch him.
  • Gabe Skrobot keeps doing his thing and moving right along. Unlimited potential on the Skrobot.

Notables: Aron Bonham, Tristan Thompson, Colt Poole, Trenton Givens, Eric Ryan

TOP 2017 LONG SNAPPERS:

Thomas Fletcher left no doubt he is the best 2017 Long Snapper in the country. He handles pressure as well as anyone I have ever had and has ZERO wasted movement when he snaps the ball. Efficiency of his snapping motion is off the charts. Kid is ready for college right now.

  • Kyle Gibbs

    Kyle Gibbs

Kyle Gibbs showed me some absolute raw power in TX. Came out from CA and didn’t disappoint. Kid’s hands are like rockets. He is almost “there”

  • Jeremiah Riordan is really moving up the ladder lately. You can tell he has been working on his overall form. Looking very solid. I would be VERY surprised to see him not dominate VEGAS XXVII.
  • Jake Pagel is just a flat out machine with his snapping. He is always great and just keeps getting better. Silent assassin.
  • Drew Wise has TONS of upside and can get the ball moving quickly back to the punter. Watch him closely at VEGAS XXVII.

Notables: Caleb Cantrell, Benji Gormley, Jarrod Jacobson, Justin Hathoot, Justyce Hankins, Jared Reeves, Steven Taylor, Ethan Zenzen

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS:

Zach Edwards made a very strong case to be the #1 Long Snapper for the country in his class. Body is coming along nicely and he has tremendous form. Kid can rip the ball back to the punter. Doesn’t say much, but doesn’t need to. I am very interested to see how he does in VEGAS with a little more pressure thrown at him.

  • Randen Plattner

    Randen Plattner

Randen Platter was VERY accurate and handled pressure well. Solid frame that will be able to hold more weight. Good kid.

  • Joseph Ramos is a massive man with great form and power. Tons of upside and definitely one to watch.

Notables: Evan Gibson, Paul Madison, Will Gerrish, Hunter Becker

TOP 2019 LONG SNAPPERS:

Hayden Hood was the best 2019 Long Snapper in attendance. He has been working with Rubio Long Snapping staff member John Finch and it was apparent that the lessons have paid off. Kid is athletic and has a great, blasé attitude that makes him handle pressure well. TONS of upside.

  • Luke Rizzo

    Luke Rizzo

Luke Rizzo came out of nowhere and showed me some great things. Very impressive first camp for him. Watch him over the years.

  • Dominic Serapiglia has good form and a great attitude. Increasing his strength will help as we progress.

Notables: Ross Arroyo, John Farris, Tre’Von Lovelace,

  • My rankings are NOT done just from The Rubio Target
  • My rankings are NOT done from some mathematical formula.
  • My rankings ARE done by me and only me.

Recap of TX Summer Camp (7/23)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to TX on July 23rd for their summer camp. It was, by far, the most talent I have seen in TX in quite some time.

Long Snappers came out from TX, OK, LA, NM, FL, CO, KS, AR, MI, MS, OH, SD & Canada to learn from the best and get the most exposure.

The overall winner of the camp was Jordan Silver (MO, ’17). Silver was handling pressure like a champ all day and has a very smooth ball. All the tools to be a great one over the next couple of years.

TOP 2016 LONG SNAPPERS:

  • IMG_2384

    Logan Klusman

Logan Klusman was tremendous all day in TX with snap speeds continuously in the .6s and even dipping into the .5s. He is a D1 Long Snapper.

  • Geron Eatherly did as he always does…snaps a perfect, smooth ball that is right on target. VERY good Long Snapper.
  • Alex Edwards has great form and was snapping rockets all day long. Love his confidence.
  • IV Seacat looked solid as he was snapping punts and pats. Little tweaks will make him flat out tremendous.
  • Bradey Sorenson was terrific at times. Smoothing out the overall package will make him incredible.

TOP 2017 LONG SNAPPERS

  • Fletcher, Thomas

    Thomas Fletcher

Thomas Fletcher was smooth, efficient and on fire during the whole day in Texas. When he lowers his butt and really snaps the ball hard, there is no one even close.

  • Jake Pagel was snapping fire all day long. Kid is VERY good and definitely someone to watch in his class.
  • Drew Wise showed me waves of brilliance and I know he can do this at the next level.
  • Chris Clore has really trimmed up his frame and it is paying off with his snapping. Snapping full speed at all times will be huge for him.

Notables: Reeves Blankenship, Beau Branum, Justin Hathoot

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS:

  • John Raines

    John Raines

John Raines locked down the title as the best overall 2018 Long Snapper with great snaps all day long. Very impressive young man.

  • Evan Gibson is a very strong Long Snapper that snaps with good power and I like his attitude. Form will be key.

OVERALL NOTABLES FROM THE CAMP: Blake Hooker, Adam Strawn, Noah Caldwell, Parker Rampy, Gabe Skrobot, Ross Arroyo, Hamza Kabir
