Recap of the GA Summer Camp (7/11/17)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to GA on July 11th, 2017 for their Summer camp. Rubio Long Snapping will be traveling the country this summer instructing Long Snappers and getting them all ready for the season and beyond!

Long Snappers from GA, TN, FL, KY, AL & MS all traveled to this camp to get the best instruction and exposure in the world of long snapping.

For the overall RSI Scores from the GA Camp, please go HERE

Overalll Camp Champ, Luke Payne and Speed Champ, Quentin Skinner

The overall champion of the camp was Luke Payne (GA, ’19). Luke caught fire late in the back and didn’t let up. He handles pressure really well and is very accurate with his snapping. Smooth Long Snapper that is coming along nicely and can snap consistently in the low .8s. Really proud of Luke and how he is progressing.

The finals were between Evan Dvorchik (42.31), JC Vega (42.25), Zach Lassiter (36.49), Quentin Skinner (36.00), Carter Short (35.53) and Luke Payne (33.75). The full finals video below…

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS

Evan Dvorchik looked great out in GA. He continues to fine tune his body and he is leaving no doubt he can snap at the next level. Strong Long Snapper that can snap in the low .7s when he is on. I am looking forward to watching Evan snap at the TOP 12 Camp. Great attitude.

Dillon Hayes was smooth as silk in GA. His ball speed was picking up really nicely and he continues to be one of he most accurate Long Snappers in his class. Locking down his spiral is going to be huge for him in the coming months.

Camren Wood was pretty impressive in GA. He has grown and put on some good size which is helping with the speed of his snaps. He has the ability to snap in the low .7s and he has excellent form.

Notables: Michael Shible, Patrick Rahiya, Nicholas Gleaton

TOP 2019 LONG SNAPPERS

Quentin Skinner had a great day in GA with his very large and strong frame. He was the faster overall Long Snapper in attendance and salon one of the most athletic. Form is excellent and he simply doesn’t miss when he follows all the way through to the punter. Hard worker that is always improving. LSU got a great one in Mad Dog.

JC Vega looked outstanding in GA. Easily one of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class. When he gets fully set, he can absolutely rip the ball back to the punter. Hitting in the .6s is child’s play for JC. Consistency of snapping motion and putting on some size will be huge for him.

Christian Johnstone has an excellent frame and a very smooth snap. Ball can hit in the mid .7s and he moves well on his feet. Massive upside for Christian.

Mason Napper looked very solid in GA. He has a great body and is an athlete on the field. Starting to really come into his own and I love the direction he is headed with his excellent attitude.

William Wagner is a thick and strong Long Snapper with very good power. Locking down the consistency of his snapping motion and increasing his athleticism will push him way up the rankings. Love his attitude.

Zach Lassiter has the ability to be one of the best overall Long Snappers in his class. At times, he can absolutely rip th ball back to the punter. Moves well on his feet and listens well.

Codey Bennett has good accuracy and is a consistent Long Snapper. Pretty much locked into the mid .7s on his time and his body is thickening up well. Very good attitude.

Cade DeGraw showed great promise in GA. Strong Long Snapper that, when he is on, can easily be in the top ten in his class. Massive upside on Cade.

Cody Olszewski showed good snaps throughout the day in GA. Thick and strong Long Snapper that can hit in the .7s. Consistency of his snapping motion will help him as we progress.

Mark Fuchs showed me some good things in GA. Big fan of his attitude and upside. Extremely athletic Long Snapper that will be a factor on punt coverage.

Notables: Graham Leslie, Carson Knight, Jack Harrison, Connor Bullard

TOP 2020 LONG SNAPPERS

Grant Reid was the best overall 2020 Long Snapper in attendance at the GA Camp. Built long and has the ability to snap in the .7s with good consistency. Really solid upside on Grant. He has quick hands and moved well on his feet.

Jake Sayer was solid all day long in GA. His hands are very quick and I loved how well he moved on his feet.

William Long was consistent with his snaps and moved well on his feet.

Notables: Dylan Hughes, Kaleb Shottenkirk, Colby Cox, Dawson Roe

TOP 2021 and BEYOND LONG SNAPPERS

Carter Short was very solid in GA and actually made it to the finals! Ball can be very quick for his age and he has a good attitude.

Notable: Jake Putnam

RSI Scores from the GA Summer Camp (7/11/17)

Rubio Long Snapping camps will feature a shortened version of the VEGAS testing format. Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Once you register, for a Rubio Long Snapping camp, a full, detailed explanation will be in your confirmation email.

Each Long Snapper will be tested on The Rubio Long Snapping Target with one snap per section instead of three. Meaning, you get one regular snap, one block left, one block right, and one speed for both punt snaps and short snaps to total eight snaps. Therefore, at the end of testing, the RSI will be tripled to reveal the participants’ RSI for that particular camp. Trust me, I do get that a Regional Camp RSI will not be the exact same as a VEGAS Event RSI for several reasons (length of test, pressure of Vegas, etc.) but it will pretty darn close and definitely fair.

The RSI is an excellent way for a participant to truly show how good of a Long Snapper they are as it balances the accuracy along with the speed of the ball, plus it will show how well the Long Snapper grows through each and every Rubio Long Snapping camp. Also, the RSI‘s will be posted on each Long Snappers profile after every camp they attend. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI‘s can range from zero to basically 90 (if a Long Snapper was to get a score 48 points and averaged .65 on their punt snaps). The highest I have ever encountered is a 86.96 by Karsten Battles! The 12 finalists at VEGAS XXIX all had above 50’s on their RSI and that was a record. A 30 is usually pretty darn solid.

Please Note: The RSI is not completely how your Rubio Long Snapping ranking will be calculated as there are many factors to being a great Long Snapper. The main things that each Long Snapper will be ranked on are the following:

Speed (should be less than .75 for a 15 yard punt snap)
Accuracy (all snaps should be in The Rubio Zone)
Consistency (a college coach is going to want to see how consistent you are with your speed…if you can snap a .75, your snaps should be right around there, well, consistently)
Mentality (how well do you handle pressure)
Athleticism (do you move well or does it look like you are in pain when moving)
Size (an ideal Long Snapper would be about 6’3″ and 235)
Spiral (does the ball look pretty, slice through the wind and easy to catch)
Blocking (will you be able to withstand a major college rush)

Recap of the GA Fall Camp (12/18)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to Texas on December 18th, 2016 for their fall camp. Rubio Long Snapping will be traveling the country this fall instructing Long Snappers and getting them all ready for the biggest event of the year, VEGAS XXIX!

Long Snappers from MS, AL, VA, GA, LA, SC, TN, FL, NC, IL, MI, IN, OH, MO, SC, KY & Canada all traveled to get the best instruction and the most exposure possible for Long Snapping.
The overall camp champion was Jacob Potter. Potter was excellent all day. His hands were like rockets as his ball jumped out of the gate on all snaps. Accuracy was off the charts and he was very calm and collected when he was snapping throughout the finals. He was definitely snapping with a ton of confidence and I loved watching him all day. His victory in GA earned him a free admission to VEGAS XXIX!

You can see the finals between Jacob Potter and Brock Assel below.

The next stop for Rubio Long Snapping will be Prep Camps in CA, TX & GA on January 8th followed by the granddaddy of them all, VEGAS XXIX on January 13-15!

Top 2017 Long Snappers
Jacob Potter was the top 2017 Long Snapper in attendance. He was smooth, powerful and snapping with confidence. Ball moves quickly and jumps out of the gate on a mission. Body is strong and he has no problem getting the ball under .75. Impressive improvement on Potter.

Chandler Moody really caught my eye several times in GA. Ball is quick and he can hit under .7 when he catches a groove. I like his attitude and he has a frame that can pack on about another 40. Moody could be the sleeper of the 2017 class. Keep a close eye on him.

Dillon Manning showed great improvement and is one of the stronger Long Snappers in his class. He can pass an eyeball test quickly and can move well on his feet. Quiet and determined Long Snapper that has some VERY quick hands.

Tuck Gill was impressive in GA. His body is thick and he has a nice spiral. Impressive use of his overall solid frame. Ball is accurate and consistent.

Dominic Brocato made it deep into the finals and snaps with confidence. Coming along very nicely and always improving.

Notables: Austin Gean, Jacob Helton, Gio Miller, Ben Shirley

Top 2018 Long Snappers
Oscar Shadley was the best overall Long Snapper in this class. He is an incredible athlete and snaps one of the most consistent hard balls I have felt in some time. He is CONSISTENTLY at .68 and on target. The harder he snaps the ball, the better he does. The potential on Shadley is off the charts and he could be a tremendous Long Snapper in college.

Roen McCullough had a solid day in GA. He can pass an eyeball test quickly and snaps a smooth, powerful ball. He has no problem hitting sub .70 and has good accuracy. Moves well on his feet and snaps with a good attitude. Massive upside.

Cade Long looked great in GA. Ball is so clean and crisp every single time to the punter. Cade makes everything look effortless as he continuously snaps the ball back to the punter. The bigger he gets, the more dominant he becomes in his class.

AJ Covan continues to impress me with his accuracy and consistency with his snaps. Notable improvement on his athleticism and speed. Covan is focused and dialed in for VEGAS XXIX and could EASILY win it.

Evan Dvorchik was beyond solid in GA. I saw him recently in WA and he was night and day better this time around. He is snapping with a ton of confidence as his ball hits under .77 consistently. Body is good and I love his attitude.

Jarrett Key was smooth and accurate. Quiet Long Snapper that is always in the mix of dominance. The more he snaps with confidence, the better he does in the long run. VERY good attitude that a coach will love in the coming years.

Brock Assel made it all the way to the finals and could have easily won the whole thing. His accuracy and consistency are off the charts. Large man with decent athleticism for his frame. Great attitude and definitely improving. Should do really well at VEGAS XXIX.

Parker Lefton looked good in GA. Thick bodied with quick hands and a consistent snap in the high .7s.

Camren Wood was VERY impressive in GA. Easily the best day he has had with Rubio Long Snapping. He is doing an excellent job of improving. Over and over throughout the day, I was wooed by Camren and his snapping.

Jake Rudolph is a good athlete with solid upside. When he is on, he is really on and has excellent athleticism.

Notables: Aidan Brock, Heath Crabtree, Dillon Hayes, Noah Hightower, Evan Jennings, Richard Landry, Brock Powers, Eli Spivey, Bailey Williams

Top 2019 Long Snappers
Quentin Skinner is a physically monstrous Long Snapper that is completely dominant and still hasn’t filled all of his potential yet. When it all clicks, Skinner could be one of the greatest Rubio Long Snappers of all time. His hands are quick and his ball is powerful. Strength is off the charts.

Drew Little had a great day in GA. Great form and he is using all of his body well. He had some great snap times throughout the day and left no doubt he has really been working hard and smart. Great upside on Drew.

Christian Johnstone looked very solid in GA with his accurate and consistent snaps. Love his frame, his attitude and his upside. He could easily earn a roster spot at The TOP 12 Camp at VEGAS XXIX.

William Wagner came on strong at the end of the day in GA and left a very good taste in my mouth. Body is thick and he uses a good amount of his body. Keep an eye on him.

Chad Becker looked great in GA. His snaps get out of the gate very quickly and he has no problem getting the ball under .7. Upside on Becker is huge. Watch him closely at VEGAS XXIX.

Codey Bennett is a strong Long Snapper with quick hands and a consistent, accurate snap. He moved well on his feet and was impressive throughout the day in GA. He is definitely one to watch at VEGAS XXIX.

Mason Napper has a good frame and a smooth snap. Very good potential and I like his attitude. He has the ability to be the real deal in just a couple months. Napper might be the sleeper of his class.

JC Vega is an incredible athlete with excellent upside. Snaps speeds are good and bordering on great. Lots and lots of upside.

Zach Lassiter made it deep into the finals and could have walked away with the victory. Built long with a frame that will hold some good weight over the next couple of years. Handled pressure well.

Notables: Carson Crisp, Cade Degraw, Ford Hayes, Tripp Heath, Graham Leslie, Dylan McCardel, Cody Olszewski, Justin Wright

Top 2020 Long Snappers and beyond….
Zane McCracken was by far the best 2020 Long Snapper in attendance and it wasn’t even close. Form is exceptional as he has been with Rubio Long Snapper for about five years! He can already snap in the .6s which is exceptional for his age. Zane is well above his age for talent level.

Jackson Worthen has great form and a solid attitude. Ball is quick and his overall use of his body is very solid for his age.

Will Benton was solid all day in GA. I like his attitude and the way he snaps the ball. Fine tuning his overall form and locking down his spiral will push him way up the rankings.

Eli Pyrz is a consistent Long Snapper with very quick hands. He moved well on his feet.

Kneeland Hibbett is a 2021 Long Snapper that was impressive for his first camp with Rubio Long Snapping. Good overall form and a solid attitude. He is already using his whole body well. Good upside.

Notables: Jake Sayer, Colby Cox, Bryan Applefield

KEY POINTS:
* My rankings are NOT done just from The Rubio Target and will always be announced when they are completed on social media.
* My rankings are NOT done from some mathematical formula.
* My rankings ARE done by me and my several select member of my senior staff. That is why they take a good amount of time. (Think of it this way, it takes MONTHS to build a Rolls Royce but only hours to build an average car)
* My rankings are based off of this blog I wrote about what makes a Long Snapper great.
* If you would like anything added to your profile page, simply email me (Rubio@RubioLongSnapping.com) the information and consider it done.
* All Long Snappers are ranked after their first fall camp of their freshman year in high school.
A Long Snapper has the ability to adjust their ranking anytime I see them LIVE, not on video.
For the profiles section, simply go to RubioLongSnapping.com. click PLAYER PROFILES, click which class, click LONG SNAPPERS and find your name.
