Top 2018 Long Snappers
Oscar Shadley was the best overall Long Snapper in this class. He is an incredible athlete and snaps one of the most consistent hard balls I have felt in some time. He is CONSISTENTLY at .68 and on target. The harder he snaps the ball, the better he does. The potential on Shadley is off the charts and he could be a tremendous Long Snapper in college.

Roen McCullough had a solid day in GA. He can pass an eyeball test quickly and snaps a smooth, powerful ball. He has no problem hitting sub .70 and has good accuracy. Moves well on his feet and snaps with a good attitude. Massive upside.

Cade Long looked great in GA. Ball is so clean and crisp every single time to the punter. Cade makes everything look effortless as he continuously snaps the ball back to the punter. The bigger he gets, the more dominant he becomes in his class.

AJ Covan continues to impress me with his accuracy and consistency with his snaps. Notable improvement on his athleticism and speed. Covan is focused and dialed in for VEGAS XXIX and could EASILY win it.

Christian Johnstone looked very solid in GA with his accurate and consistent snaps. Love his frame, his attitude and his upside. He could easily earn a roster spot at The TOP 12 Camp at VEGAS XXIX.

William Wagner came on strong at the end of the day in GA and left a very good taste in my mouth. Body is thick and he uses a good amount of his body. Keep an eye on him.

Chad Becker looked great in GA. His snaps get out of the gate very quickly and he has no problem getting the ball under .7. Upside on Becker is huge. Watch him closely at VEGAS XXIX.

Top 2019 Long Snappers by Region

Here is a look at the TOP 2019 Long Snapper in each region of the country.

NORTHWEST (States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska)
Mike Zahara, WA
Super laid back kid. Didn’t get overly worked up about anything. Kept his cool and took instruction well. Thought it was a great sign from a kid of his age, not getting frazzled or frustrated. Really good form. Has long frame that can fill out nicely. Once he puts on some muscle and snaps hard, he will be great.

PACIFIC (California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii)
Simon Samarzich, CA
Simon had a good weekend at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He is a true athlete that can be as good, or great, as he chooses to be with his Long Snapping. Once he fully dedicates himself to snapping, he could easily take the top spot and run with it. Accuracy is solid and his form is excellent for his age. Handles pressure well and could have actually won the whole thing in the desert. Like to see some more speed on the ball and that will come with consistency of snapping motion and size. Tremendous potential on Simon.

SOUTHWEST (New Mexico and Texas)
Hayden Hood, TX
Hood was excellent at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in TX on July 7, 2016. He is one of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class and showed no mercy in TX. His confidence is starting to come along VERY nicely and I love it. Needs to make sure he is focus on gaining some size as that will assist him in blocking, getting down field and the overall speed of the ball. Kid is very good and just looks to get better. Keep a very close eye on him this fall and definitely at VEGAS XXIX.

NORTH CENTRAL (North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska)
Tyler Shaw, WI
Really liked what I saw out of Tyler at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in IL on July 9, 2016. He is a long athlete that is snapping with good power and confidence. Love to see him focus on leaning back more so he goes towards the punter and not up/forward. Falling forward will cause the ball to rise a bit and lose some accuracy. Kid has tremendous upside and can easily be one of the top Long Snappers in his class. WATCH HIM at VEGAS XXIX.

SOUTH CENTRAL (Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana)
Caden Bolz, KS
Caden did well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in TX on July 7, 2016. He is a thick and strong Long Snapper with good power in his hands. Ball is quick and he has no problem hovering in the .8s at all times. By VEGAS XXIX, I want to make sure he is getting his eyes/head all the way through as this will greatly increase the overall speed of the ball AND the accuracy. Kid is dripping with potential.

MID AMERICA (Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky)
Jude Pedrozo, OH
Jude continues to impress me and didn’t let up at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in IL on July 9, 2016. He can pass an eyeball test quickly and is snapping with a great deal of confidence. The upside on this kid is off the charts and he could make the TOP 12 in January if he continues to snap well. Overall accuracy and consistency is what I will be focused on seeing at VEGAS XXIX. He needs to know he can be one of the greats.

NORTHEAST (Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island)
Austin Sullivan, NY
I liked what I saw out of Austin at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He is very large Long Snapper for his age and has a good snapping motion. Very fluid Long Snapper. I like his form and I want him to trust it. If he was to trust his form and really let the ball fly, he will be able to get well under .90 by fall and definitely by XXIX in January. TONS OF POTENTIAL on Austin and when his legs get fully locked and timed up, he will dominate. LOVE HIS ATTITUDE.

ATLANTIC (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia)
Dominic Serapiglia, PA
Dominic did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in NC on July 11, 2016. He is a thick and strong Long Snapper with good overall form. Ball is tight and he is showing some good accuracy. Like to see him increase the speed of his legs as they are just a tad behind his very quick hands. If he can get his timing locked down, he will be snapping under .77 by VEGAS XXIX…easily. Increasing his athleticism will push him way up the rankings as well. Good upside and always improving.

SOUTHEAST (Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida)
Quentin Skinner, GA
Skinner, AKA Mad Dog, had a solid weekend at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He can EASILY snap a D1 ball right now when he is on. Every once in awhile, he will forget to follow through and the ball will die. If he can fix that, and I know he can, he can be a 5 Star Rubio Long Snapper by next Vegas if not sooner. CONSISTENCY will be his biggest thing to focus on.

Raymond Freeman

Raymond Freeman

The overall camp champion was RAYMOND FREEMAN (FL, ’17)! Freeman caught fire early in the day and never stopped. Came close in the accuracy contest, did well through the agility section and was outstanding in the speed competition. He left no doubt in the end that he was one of the top Long Snappers in the country.

Raymond snaps with great power and can get the ball back to the punter in under .7 very consistently. I like his size and he is moving well on his feet. The more he snaps the ball with absolute full power and confidence, the better he does. TONS of upside on this Long Snapper from Florida.

Top 2017 Long Snappers

Jacob Potter

Jacob Potter

Jacob Potter was solid all day long in GA. Very thick and strong Long Snapper with great power and very quick hands. Ball really jumps out of the gate and gets back to the punter in a jiffy. Continuing to work on his athleticism will just continue to move him up the ladder.

Quinn Stephenson is a solid Long Snapper with a good frame and a smooth snap. Ball is like butter coming back to the punter. Being quicker with his get off will push him up the rankings.

Matthew Newsome was impressive in GA. He is a big Long Snapper with good power and a nice, accurate snap. Good potential and I like his attitude. Keep a very close eye on him

Chris Clore continues to impress me with his attitude, dedication to his size and the smoothness of his ball. Driving his elbows and snapping with confidence will be huge as move towards XXIX.

Tommy Zozuz did well for his first Rubio Long Snapping camp. Upper body is very solid and he can get the ball back in the high .7s. Love to see him focus on not rocking to start the process and getting his lower half fully involved to gain more speed.

Matthew Smith is coming along nicely and will dominate once he gets his butt down a bit more and allows his eyes to rip all the way through to the punter.

NOTABLES: Javier King, Dillon Manning, Ben Shirley

Clay James

Clay James

Top 2018 Long Snappers

Clay James had a great day in GA. Body is thick, strong and he has great form. Really starting to lock in and get laser focused. Confidence is coming along nicely and he can catch a groove. Snapping with full power at all times is the key for James. Excellent attitude and always improving.

Cade Long was only able to participate in half the camp but still was able to show his full dominance. Ball is tight and really rips back to the punter. Continuing to put on some size and make sure he is snapping with confidence will be huge as we head into TOP 12 and EVENT ELITE.

Jarret Key was impressive in GA. Body is strong and he is smooth. Times are in the high .7s and I want them in the low .7s by XXIX. Love to see him snap KNOWING he is one of the best rather than hoping he is. Kid has very good upside and attitude.

Bryce Chason is absolutely dripping with potential. The better he handles pressure, the higher he will go. Keep a VERY close eye on this Long Snapper from GA.

Parker Lefton looked very good with his snapping (when he is snapping with full power) and his body is coming along nicely. Love his attitude.

Quentin Skinner

Top 2019 Long Snappers

Quentin Skinner was in attendance for half the camp but was dominant enough to show he was the top 2019 Long Snapper in attendance. Built like a brick house and can snap in the .6s when he is fully following through. Very strong Long Snapper with great form. Excited to see the future of this Long Snapper. Works hard.

Thomas Johnstone has excellent upside and definitely headed in the right direction. Built very long and has a frame that will hold another 30 lbs in the next two years. Ball is smooth and he has great form. Keep a very close eye on this kid.

Brendan Beattie was throwing heat all day in GA. Form is good and he has strong hands. Needs to really focus on locking down his spiral or the ball will be very hard to catch for the punter.

NOTABLES: Luke Payne

Zane McCracken

Top 2020 Long Snappers

Zane McCracken was easily the best 2020 Long Snapper in attendance. Zane is a long time Rubio Long Snapper and you can easily tell. Form is darn near flawless and he can already throw the ball in the .8s, which is very impressive for his age. The bigger he gets over the next four years, the better he will be. Kid is VERY good for his age or for someone a couple years older.

Eli Pyrz showed me some good upside. Love his size and how well he listens. Watch this kid over the next couple of years.

KEY POINTS:

  • My rankings are NOT done just from The Rubio Target and will always be announced when they are completed on social media. For summer camps, they have been promised by October 1, 2016 due to the amount of travel Rubio Long Snapping will have to do.
  • My rankings are NOT done from some mathematical formula.
  • My rankings ARE done by me and my several select member of my senior staff. That is why they take a good amount of time. (Think of it this way, it takes MONTHS to build a Rolls Royce but only hours to build an average car)

Rubio Long Snapper Quentin Skinner Gets Offer AT 13 years old!

Skinner, QuentinYup, you read that correctly….Rubio Long Snapper Quentin “Mad Dog” Skinner got his first full ride scholarship AT 13 YEARS OLD! Mad Dog (once you meet him, you will really understand the nickname) confirmed with me this morning. He is going into the 8th grade and he has picked up a full scholarship offer to Southern University in LA!

Mad Dog started attending Rubio Long Snapping Camps when he was in the 4th grade and has been a steady returner ever since. He averages .77 for a 15 yard snap, can bench press 280 lbs and squats 315 for a set of ten. His form is exceptional and he already passes the eye-ball test very quickly.

He is the real deal in every aspect and looks to destroy all Rubio Long Snapping records (Christian Yount of the Cleveland Browns, at one point, was the earliest to get offered when Boston College offered him his junior year. That record was broken by Blake Ferguson who was offered by LSU at the end of his sophomore year). Good luck breaking Mad Dogs record.

Here is some video of Mad Dog snapping at the FBU TOP GUN Camp this past weekend where he was selected to play in the Eastbay All- Star Game!

FYI: If you are keeping track, Coach Marty Biagi offered two Rubio Long Snappers (David Michael Carrell and Quentin Skinner) on the same day! The guy is obviously well ahead of his time.

Recap Article & Video of the Rubio Long Snapping Camp in GA (March 2, 2014)

Long Snappers came out to GA to attend the Rubio Long Snapping GA Camp on March 2nd from MS, GA, FL, TN, KY, AL and OH  to get the best  Long Snapping instruction and exposure in the country for Long Snappers. Long Snappers, and their parents/guardians, were instructed on the field, had a film and classroom session, a recruiting seminar and ended the day with a competition with Rubio present and running the camp. Each Long Snapper was filmed and will have a player profile provided for them on RubioLongSnapping.com.

The overall winner of the camp was Dalton Masters (FL, ’15). Dalton had an excellent day with smooth, strong snaps that were very accurate. He is, easily, one of, if not the, strongest Long Snappers in the country. He is built like a brick house and was using all of his strength very well throughout the day. He was on fire throughout the competition and was overflowing with confidence. Great overall day for Masters!

The TOP 2014 Long Snappers in attendance were…

  • Andrew Ashe (MS) was great all day long. He has a wonderful frame and an even better attitude. This Long Snapper is ALWAYS improving. He is going to make someone very happy in the future.
  • Joel Baldwin (MS)) continues to get bigger, stronger and better. He looks like a D1 athlete right now and he is snapping like one as well. Tons of confidence on Baldwin right now.
  • John Morrison (GA) has some of the best form in the country and the harder he snaps the ball, the better he will be. Great attitude and very smart.

The TOP 2015 Long Snappers in attendance were….

  • Blake Ferguson (GA) was DOMINANT all day long in GA. He is looking outstanding in every sense of the word. He is built VERY well, has great form and is beginning to truly snap with confidence. The question for Blake is how great does he want to be. LSU really won the lotto on him.
  • Liam McCullough (OH) left no doubt he is worthy of the scholarships he is already offered. He is massive, snapping the ball hard and hunting for the top spot in the country. He is just flat out good and getting better. He is a sure fire scholarship Long Snapper.
  • Travis Baugus (GA) is really coming into his own right now and the rest of his class should be on the lookout. He is snapping the ball hard and like he knows he will win sooner than later. Keep a very close eye on him in Vegas. He is good.
  • Riley Lovingood (TN) showed why Tennessee offered him a scholarship…this kid can snap. He is built very well and uses his whole body well. The lower he gets his butt, the better he will be and he is really good right now!
  • Ryan Parris (AL) had the best overall camp of his life in GA. He is getting stronger by the second and he uses all of his body when he snaps. The kid can snap some heat. The more he locks down his consistency, the higher he will go in the ranks. He looked exceptional out in GA.
  • Connor Kubala (GA) is like clockwork for having great camps with me. He is a good Long Snapper with a great, non-chalant attitude that allows him to handle pressure very well. He will do very well in college.
  • Steven Nixon (GA) had a great day in GA. He is VERY strong and used his body well. Moves extremely well on his feet and is starting to snap like I know he can. Great attitude.
  • Drew McCracken (GA) might be the most athletic Long Snapper in his class. Snaps a good, clean ball and has the ability to hit D1 speeds. Confidence and size will be key for McCracken.

Other notable Long Snappers: Hunter Womac, Matthew Coklan, Hunter Colonna, Logan Hamilton

The TOP 2016 Long Snappers in attendance were….

  • Scott Meyer (GA) left no doubt he was the best sophomore Long Snapper in his class in GA. He is built well and snapping with some great speed. Sky is the limit for him. Event Elite?
  • Josh Brady (GA) was excellent all day. He pretty much has a D1 body right now and he is beginning to snap like a college Long Snapper as well. His entire class better lock on him.

Other notable Long Snappers: Anthony Ratliff, Sean Somers, Gunter LaPrad

The TOP 2017/18/19 Long Snappers in attendance were….

    • Quentin Skinner (GA) is a 2019 Long Snapper that would EASILY start for about 90% of the varsity football teams in the country….I am not kidding. He is really that good. Every college should already have him on their radar.
    • Roen McCullough (OH) is a 2018 Long Snapper that is doing very, very well for his age. He is strong and uses his strength well. Love to see him lift up his butt and lean back a tad. Very good overall base already. Keep an eye on him.
    • Enzo Anthony (FL) is a 2019 Long Snapper with great form, a wonderful attitude and a drive to be the best. Tons of talent already in Enzo.

Nike Spring Camp in GA – RECAP

Long Snappers came out to GA on Sunday, April 14th from AL, MS, TN, KY, CA, FL, OH, VA, TX, IL, IN and GA to get the best instruction and exposure in the country for Long Snappers. The talent level at this camp was off the charts. Easily, the best I have seen in one location. The overall winner of the camp was Warren Wynn (FL, ’14). Wynn was extremely smooth and consistent all day long. He handled the pressure of the competition very well and outlasted Alan Lucy to bring home the title.

Other Long Snappers that were exceptional throughout the day were….

Class of 2013

Smith, Wyatt

Wyatt Smith was the best 2013 Long Snapper at the GA camp.

  • Wyatt Smith  (MS) – This JC Long Snapper is flat out fantastic. He has a D1 body and snaps D1 speeds. He is ready for college right now!
  • Gaither Barker (TN) – Gaither has improved as much as anyone I have ever worked with in the past ten years. Excellent attitude.
  • Justin Vining (GA) – Vining is strong mentally and physically. Snapping very well and continues to improve.
  • Andrew Earle (GA) – Earle is snapping with a great deal of confidence and it is paying off. He looked great out in GA.

Class of 2014

Lucy, Alan

Alan Lucy was the best 2014 Long Snapper at the GA camp

  • Alan Lucy (VA) – Came to this camp from dominating the NC camp the day before and almost won the whole thing. Proved again he is the best in his class. He could snap in college right now.
  • Andrew Ashe (MS) – Ashe looked great out in GA. Methodical Long Snapper with a ton of potential. Keep a close eye on him. Could be the sleeper of his class.
  • Casey Wilson (GA) – Easily the smoothest Long Snapper in his class. Moves extremely well. Hangs out and just snaps bullets.
  • Davis Winkie (GA) – Large man that really whips the ball back to the punter. The more control he gets of his body when snapping, the better he will be. Off the charts potential.
  • Nate Hawkins (IL) – Another great camp for Nate. He is really coming into his own. Very comfortable out there.
  • John Morrison (GA) – When he is confident with his Long Snapping, he is phenomenal. True student of Long Snapping.
  • Gray Threadgill (MS) – Getting his eyes through and his balance back will make this Long Snapper get to the next level.
  • Joel Baldwin (MS) – Very long athlete with a ton of potential. Form and attitude are very good.
  • Will-Parker Carter (KY) – WPC is snapping with a lot of confidence and it is paying off. Looking much improved.
  • Jacob Allen (AL) – Allen handles pressure extremely well. He is very coachable. Great attitude.

Class of 2015

Ferguson, Blake

Blake Ferguson was the best 2015 Long Snapper at the GA camp.

  • Blake Ferguson (GA) – Came out on a mission to get back the top spot and he finished the camp with the top spot in his pocket. Excellent accuracy, consistency and speed all day in GA. Looked like a college Long Snapper….and he’s a sophomore
  • AJ Carty (CA) – Competed in both camps during the weekend and was great at both of them. Big Long Snapper with great form. Excellent attitude.
  • Liam McCullough (OH) – Liam is getting bigger by the second. Easily has D1 body right now and, when he gets his eyes through, he easily snaps a D1 ball. Tons of upside.
  • Julian Cole (GA) – Julian improved by leaps and bounds since the last time I saw him at a camp. Definitely headed in the right direction.
  • Ryan Parris (AL) – Snapping with a great deal of confidence. Parris is looking very solid.
  • Travis Baugus (GA) – Travis has a great frame and is very athletic. Lots of potential. Great form.
  • Riley Lovingood (TN) – Lovingood is coming along nicely. Snaps the ball with good force. Fine-tuning his form will be the key to greatness.
  • Michael Poujol (TX) – Excellent frame and a fast snap make Poujol one to keep an eye on. Strong hands.

Class of 2016 and Beyond…

Skinner, Quentin

Quentin Skinner was the best 2016 and beyond Long Snapper at the GA camp.

  • Quentin Skinner (GA) – This 2019 Long Snapper is flat out fantastic for his age. Scratch that, he is fantastic for someone three years older than him. Keep a very close eye on him.
  • Josh Brady (GA) – Terrific size and very coachable. Lots of potential on Brady.
  • Scott Meyer (GA) – Big, strong Long Snapper that listens well. Tons of upside.
  • Thomas Newberg (TN) – Very long athlete that is coming along nicely. Handles pressure well.
  • Matt Swanson (GA) – Extremely strong and powerful Long Snapper. The bigger and more consistent he gets, the better he will be. Work horse.

Other notables from the camp in GA: Jacob Partridge, Clay Barton, Zach DeVore, Tim Mattus, Dalton Masters, Hunter Womac, Steven Nixon, Erik Purks, Collin Sapp, Anthony Ratliff and Lucas Patelles
