Dallas is a terrific 5 Star Rubio Long Snapper and even better person. Anyone that has been around him, knows his personality is over-flowing in a good way. He is a thick bodied lefty with great speed that moves very well on his feet. Extremely athletic and mobile Long Snapper that will make the Dragons extremely happy for the next couple of years!

Rubio Long Snapper Reed Buce (AZ, ’13) has committed to UCLA as a preferred walk-on!

Reed is rated the #6 Long Snapper in the country and a member of the 2012 TOP 12! He is a terrific Long Snapper with great form, solid frame and wonderful attitude. UCLA has always been a dream school for him, so he couldn’t pass up this opportunity. Buce looks to compete for the starting job immediately in Westwood. He will be joining Rubio Long Snappers Chris Longo and Jay Weneta for the Bruins.

2014 Long Snappers may now celebrate Rankuary!

The rankings are completed for the class of 2014 Long Snappers post the 11th Annual National Kicking and Snapping Event in Las Vegas. This class was extremely tricky considering how many stepped up and showed me they belong in the TOP 12. Trust me when I tell you, that list was not easy nor was ranking this class…hence, why it took me the longest. Not one Long Snapper is safe with their ranking in this group and the Spring Event in Las Vegas is going to be a flat out battleground for them.

Rubio Long Snapping Makes History!

As you already know, today is National Signing Day for all high school athletes. It is a monster for coaches, sports writers, athletes and myself (check your Twitter and Facebook feeds).

Bottom line, today is a big day….and I want you to fully grasp how big of a day this is for Rubio Long Snapping and Long Snappers in general.

I received a picture and text from Rubio Long Snapper Carson Tinker of Bama….

He had it sent to him by the top ranked Long Snapper in the country, Cole Mazza. The picture is showing Mazza signing his letter of intent to play at Alabama for the next four years.

Big deal, right?

It gets bigger. Tinker’s text to me read “You did that man…I’m proud of Rubio…You make snappers proud….This picture is unprecedented to long snappers and you know that….congrats man. It is historical and you made that happen. Saban has offered a snapper”

Tinker is right. This is historical. Not just for Rubio Long Snapping, but for Long Snappers everywhere. Alabama has never offered a Long Snapper out of high school. Head Coach Nick Saban has never offered a Long Snapper a scholarship out of high school.

So, You Didn’t Make The TOP 12…now what?

For the past 2 weeks, you have been watching the TOP 12 Long Snappers get chosen one by one. Nightly, you stared at your Twitter feed or Facebook at approximately 5 pm pst waiting for the inevitable clue to be dropped. Each day, one person was ecstatic while countless others felt the opposite emotions. Last night, the final TOP 12er was chosen and a balloon was popped for many 2014, 2015 and even some 2016 Long Snappers. Now what?

Couple ways to look at it….

You can be upset with me for not selecting you. You can be upset with yourself for not performing when it counted. You can even find a way to blame others, but, it is ultimately on you. The only thing you can control is how hard and smart you work. Everyone in Vegas is competing for the same spots. Don’t let anybody outwork you and you will see different results.

You need to use this as motivation to make sure you perform better. This is all up to you. The choice is yours.

If you are a Long Snapper that strives to be the best, you want to be at that TOP 12 camp this summer. Any single athlete that has been there (scholarship Long Snappers, All-Americans, NFL players) will tell you it is, by far, the best camp they have ever been to in their life. What you need to do is get back on the horse. Work smarter and harder. Your opportunity is waiting for you in May at the Spring Event in Las Vegas.

At the Spring Event, I choose the EVENT ELITE. The EVENT ELITE is the best of the best from Vegas in May. They join the TOP 12 to form the TOP 12 and EVENT ELITE Camp on June 21-23, 2013 in Los Angeles. There is no set number for the EVENT ELITE. I could choose one Long Snapper or I can choose 20. It all depends on the talent. I don’t choose just to choose. It would make me look ignorant in the end. If I say you belong at that camp, you are one of the best in the world. This is a true invite only camp. I do NOT just hand out invites to get people to come to it. That would give me no credibility. I choose the best because they are the best. They will represent the TOP 12, EVENT ELITE and Rubio Long Snapping the best in the future.

Are you one of them? Time to decide. Prove to me, and the rest of the world, that you belong.

The 12th TOP 12er is Liam McCullough!

The 12th, and final, Long Snapper to be named to the exclusive TOP 12 is Liam McCullough (OH, ’15)!

Liam is the only Long Snapper from the class of 2015 that was chosen for this elite group and it is VERY well deserved. Liam came out to the 11th Annual National Event in Las Vegas and was beyond dominant from start to finish. He averaged sub .7 for a 15 yard snap and I didn’t see a bad ball all weekend. He has increased his size and is snapping with a ton of confidence.

Rubio Long Snapping January in Review

To say January was a “busy” month for Rubio Long Snapping would be the understatement of the Long Snapping world! The month was filled with player commitments, current college player success stories, alumni in the NFL Playoffs and The National Event in Las Vegas!

In just the month of January, Rubio Long Snapping had over 10 players commit to Universities. Some of those players include: Jerred Sonneborn (Washington State), Zach Smith (USC), AJ Hantak (Eastern Illinois) amongst many others.

Many Rubio Long Snappers continue to excel beyond high school and into their respected colleges; here are a few players that just recently accomplished great things at their schools:

  • Joe St. Germain – Recently earned a Full Scholarship at Virginia Tech University after a flawless Redshirt Freshman season.
  • Jeff Palmer – Set a record at the University of Oregon for playing in 52 games straight.

The National Event in Las Vegas was a huge success with Cole Mazza taking the title. Click Here for a recap of the event.

Finally to cap it all off Rubio Long Snapping Alums competed at the highest level of the sport and on one of the biggest stages the NFL Playoffs. Zach had another strong showing at a Rubio Long Snapping camp. In Vegas, he was smooth, on target and snapping the ball extremely quick. He has very good form and he snaps the ball hard every snap. Handles pressure well and snaps with confidence.

To view them, simply go the Rubio Long Snapping YouTube channel and type in the Long Snapper’s name you’d like to embrace. That should give you a list of that Long Snapper’s videos that he has done with me. If you are still having troubles, type in “Rubio Long Snapping, Name of Long Snapper, 11th Annual Event” and this should do it.

Davis has continued to just improve and improve over the past couple of years. Always had tremendous size and just needed to control it. Well, it looks like he is doing it now and that is not good news for the rest of his class. Easy D1 size and speed right now. As you can imagine, this is quite an honor for a true sophomore but very well deserved. TOP 12 Long Snapper Lovato has been flawless in two seasons for the Monarchs.

Lovato is a tremendous Long Snapper and person with a very bright future. He started with Rubio Long Snapping in 2009 and was a late pickup for Old Dominion that panned out beautifully!

Tanner has a terrific, lean frame that is very athletic. Moves well on his feet and is really letting the ball fly out of his hands. His form is solid and he is very coachable. With the right work and some tweaking, Tanner could see him at the top of his class shortly. It is all up to him.

Wyatt has a very solid frame and was one of the most consistent Long Snappers out in Vegas this past weekend. He snaps a very smooth and catchable ball that is on point. Wyatt has excellent form and uses his large lower half very, very well.

1st TOP 12er is Alan Lucy!

The 1st member of the TOP 12 is Alan Lucy (VA, ’14)!

Lucy is a long time Rubio Long Snapper that was terrific out in Vegas for the 11th Annual National Snapping Event. He was on point all weekend and averaged a quick .68 for 15 yards. He is really transforming his body and the sky is the limit for him.
