Recap Article from the Florida Fall Camp (11/8)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to FL on November 8th for their fall camp. The camp turned out some great talent on a very warm Florida day.

Long Snappers came out from IN and FL to learn from the best and get the most exposure possible for Long Snapping.

The overall winner of the camp was Tim Fean (IN, ’16)! Tim was dominant from start to finish in FL. Very accurate Long Snapper that was throwing heat all day. The bigger he gets, the better he will be. One heck of a snapper already!

  • Brett DioGuardi

    Brett DioGuardi

Brett DioGuardi left no doubt he is one of the best Long Snappers in his class. He has great size and was on the hip all day long. Always improving.

  • Brandon Wren had a very solid day in FL. If he can eliminate the occasional hitch, he will greatly increase the speed of his ball. Good potential.

  • Gabe Hantz

Paul Lawless left no doubt he was the top 2017 Long Snapper in attendance in FL. He has a very good frame and will be total asset to a coach in the locker room and on the field. TONS of upside. Excellent accuracy all day.

  • Gabe Hantz is a VERY strong Long Snapper that is a workhorse. Always improving and is extremely coachable.
  • David Demeter showed me some good things in FL. Type of Long Snapper that can catch a hot streak and run with it. VERY accurate Long Snapper.

  • Clay James

Oscar Shadley might have the most potential of anyone in his class. Kid is right on the cusp of greatness. Needs to be able to stay hot all day and not fall into any slumps. Consistency will be key for him. KEEP A VERY CLOSE EYE ON HIM AT VEGAS XXVII.

  • Clay James has done a great job of improving the finer points and is turning into one heck of a Long Snapper. VERY good attitude and definitely headed in the right direction. Size will be key as we move forward.
  • Adam Vespi attended his first career Rubio Long Snapping Camp and showcased some of the fastest hands in his class. He has the ability to be as good as he wants to be.

  • Enzo Anthony

Frank Melgarejo is a star on the rise. His average snap speed for the day was .80 which is PHENOMENAL for a freshman. He could be staple at the top of the rankings for the next few years

  • Enzo Anthony has incredible form and a solid work ethic. Body is coming along nicely and he has an incredible attitude. Strength will be a big factor as we continue on the path to greatness.

  • My rankings are NOT done just from The Rubio Target
  • My rankings are NOT done from some mathematical formula.
  • My rankings ARE done by me and only me. That is why they take a good amount of time. (Think of it this way, it takes MONTHS to build a Rolls Royce but only hours to build an average car)
  • My rankings are based off of this blog I wrote about what makes a Long Snapper great.
  • If you would like anything added to your profile page, simply email me ( the information and consider it done.
  • All Long Snappers are ranked after their first fall camp of their freshman year in high school.

A Long Snapper has the ability to adjust their ranking anytime I see them LIVE, not on video.
