Playing pool and sitting in the hot tub for special teams “group meetings” before practice
If you could give ONE bit of advice to the current Rubio Long Snappers, what would it be? Snapping PARENTS, what would it be?
Snappers: A major life lesson to me was life really isn’t all about what you know, it’s about who you know. Make connections, be reliable, be the best at whatever you do. You never know who’s watching.
Parents: Make sure this is what YOUR kid wants and NOT what you want for them.
When was the last time you snapped a ball and for what reason?
3-4 years ago on the beach. Had to prove to myself I still had it (I indeed did NOT still have it).
If you could go back and play football in college again, would you go to the same school or a different one? Why?
I more than likely would have picked a school that has an aviation program more tailored to student athletes.
Any regrets during college? Anything you wish you had done or hadn’t done?
Nothing that I can think of. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at college.
What tremendous thing have you been a part of or experienced since you graduated?
Upgrading to captain at my current airline. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to be an airline captain and I would say to date, it’s my biggest and proudest accomplishment.
