Rubio Long Snapping held it’s first summer camp of the year and it was a great one!
The Rising Stars Camp in Chicago was held on June 21-22 and featured Long Snappers from the following states: SC, KS, TX, CA, MO, VA, WV, IL, MS, MI, IN, FL, NJ, KY, TN, MA, CO, PA, GA & CANADA!
The talent was off the charts and the parents were extremely interactive throughout the whole weekend. One of the highlights of this camp on the East Coast is the annual Game Show vs the kickers. This year, for the first time, the parents were included, BUT it didn’t help the kickers as they were destroyed by the Long Snappers!!!
FBU All-American & Camp Champion: Hunter Bettridge (TX, 2029)
One of main parts of this camp is seeing which 2029 Long Snapper will earn a FBU All-American spot. Being an FBU All-American is a huge honor for an incoming freshman as it is the premier freshman All-American game and held in Naples, FL!
This year’s first Long Snapper to earn the honor was Hunter Bettridge (TX). Hunter was on fire all weekend with smooth, consistent snaps and a great spiral. He is well beyond his years with his Long Snapping and showed great poise by actually being the overall champ of the camp as well!!! This is the first time that has ever happened at a Rising Stars Camp since it is open to Juniors – 8th graders.
