Recap of the 2017 TX Fall Camp

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to TX on November 12, 2017 for their fall camp. Rubio Long Snapping will travel the country this fall instructing Long Snapper and getting them all ready for their season and beyond. Following TX, Rubio Long Snapping will head to NC on 11/19, GA on 12/3, AZ on 12/10, OH on 12/17 and then the Super Bowl for Long Snappers, VEGAS XXXI on January 1-15, 2018.

Long Snappers from TX, KS, LA, OK, CA, MO, MS & IL all traveled to his camp to get the best instruction and exposure in the world of Long Snapping.

Here are the RSI Scores from the TX Camp…

The overall winner of the camp was Luke Rizzo. Rizzo is a TOP 12 Camp invitee that left no doubt that invitation was well deserving. One of the hottest Long Snappers from the start of the camp to the finish. Form is good and he is snapping with great power. Even his misses were simply off by minimal inches. Size is good and he is moving well on his feet. Rizzo is getting better by the second and continues to learn how to dominate.

The finals in TX were between Luke Rizzo (48.1), John Farris (47.56), Dillon Hayes (42.67), Evan Gibson (34.21), Tre Rubio (33.78) and Kuper Imrem (32.53)

You can see the full finals video below…

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS

Karsten Battles

Karsten Battles was an absolute machine all day in TX. It is so fun to watch battles snap as he locks in and just crushes it….every single time. He has some of the quickest hands in the country and he can easily hit sub .75 on a very consistent basis. Body is looking solid and he is very determined. Just a flat out machine snapping the ball and is easily a scholarship Long Snapper.

Zach Edwards was the overall winner of the speed competition with snaps well under .70…yes, .70. His ball was picking up speed as the day progressed. One of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class. The bigger he gets, the more dominant he becomes with his snapping.

Zach Edwards

Dillon Hayes continues to find his way into the finals of each camp with his great poise under pressure and his incredible consistency and accuracy.

Jax Wilson looks like a college tight end right now and has some of the most amazing upside I have seen in years from a Long Snapper. Body is great and his potential is off the charts. When he is on, there is no one better.

Evan Gibson is looking very smooth and strong. Body is powerful and he is really starting to snap with lots of confidence. Love his attitude.

Tre Rubio was snapping a great spiral all day and had many snaps sub .75. Tre was on fire all day and looked very impressive.

Chandler Moses was snapping with great confidence, a nice frame, and some good zip on the ball.

Cole Voyles has some increadile form and a frame that is able to put on some good weight over the next couple of years.

Notables: Austin Ortega, Grayson Broussard

TOP 2019 LONG SNAPPERS

Luke Rizzo

Luke Rizzo was incredible all day long in TX. This is obvious as he was the overall winner of the whole camp and made it deep into the speed finals round as well. The more confidence he snaps with and the more he knows how great he truly is, the better he will be in the long run.

Braedy Wilson

Braedy Wilson is a tall drink water with upside that is off the charts. Ball is fast as he can easily be sub .75 when he lets the ball fly out of his hands. Frame is great with room to put on some good weight over the next year.

Caden Bolz came our from KS and was very solid. Ball was quick, body is thick and he has great power throughout.

Nathan Tokar is really starting to snap with some solid confidence and had no problem getting the ball under .80 on a regular basis. Every time I see Tokar he is looking more and more physically fit.

Chad Wolf is big, strong and overflowing potential. The upside on Wolf is off the charts. Good form and attitude.

Nick Stoia has good follow through and the ability to easily get the ball under .80. Smoothing out his form and becoming more and more consistent will move him way up the rankings.

David Medrano showed great upside and I love his attitude. Body is strong and he snaps a smooth ball back to the punter.

Kuper Imrem did well all day in TX and made it to the finals. The more confidence he snaps with, the better he does.

Nate McCormack did really well all day in TX. Very impressed with his attitude and how much he has improved over the last couple of months.

John Farris made it to the finals and was close to taking his talents deep into the finals. Always improving and one of the best attitudes of all the Long Snappers in the 2019 class.

Notables: Ross Arroyo, Josh Burtch, Brayden Chandler, Landon Sleeper

TOP 2020 LONG SNAPPERS

Blake Hooker

Blake Hooker was tremendous all day in TX and even made it very deep into the speed finals as he was one of the last three Long Snappers to be snapping. Ball is tight and he is headed towards greatness. The more he knows that, the better he will do.

Dylan Wiltcher

Dylan Wiltcher looked very solid with great snap speeds under .80 and a tremendous attitude. Dylan is good an headed towards great.

John Bergeron

John Bergeron was terrific all day in TX. Snap speeds were great and consistent under .80. Need Bergeron to not be so surprised of his greatness and except to dominate.

John Luke Roberts showed massive upside. Kid is going to be good.

Notables: Phillip Bourque, Peter Brown, Bryce Felt, Coltin Knape, Jackson McFarland, Ethan Wells, Ethan Lane

TOP 2021 & BEYOND LONG SNAPPERS

Nick Walker

Nick Walker was excellent in TX. Kid is growing like a weed and is already snapping like a Varsity Long Snapper right now. His hands are quick and he can easily get the ball sub .80 at 15 yards. Nick is headed towards greatness if he maintains this pace.

Connor Able showed great upside in TX with snaps consisntely under. 82 and a nice, long frame.

Nate Adams might have the most potential of any 2021 Long Snapper in the country. Kid is massive and looks like a college tight end right now. If he works on his form, he could easily dominate his class at VEGAS XXXI.

Grant Goltra is flat out dripping with potential and is very coachable.

RSI Scores from the TX Summer Camp (6/30/17)

Rubio Long Snapping camps will feature a shortened version of the VEGAS testing format. Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Once you register, for a Rubio Long Snapping camp, a full, detailed explanation will be in your confirmation email.

Each Long Snapper will be tested on The Rubio Long Snapping Target with one snap per section instead of three. Meaning, you get one regular snap, one block left, one block right, and one speed for both punt snaps and short snaps to total eight snaps. Therefore, at the end of testing, the RSI will be tripled to reveal the participants’ RSI for that particular camp. Trust me, I do get that a Regional Camp RSI will not be the exact same as a VEGAS Event RSI for several reasons (length of test, pressure of Vegas, etc.) but it will pretty darn close and definitely fair.

The RSI is an excellent way for a participant to truly show how good of a Long Snapper they are as it balances the accuracy along with the speed of the ball, plus it will show how well the Long Snapper grows through each and every Rubio Long Snapping camp. Also, the RSI‘s will be posted on each Long Snappers profile after every camp they attend. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI‘s can range from zero to basically 80 (if a Long Snapper was to get a score 48 points and averaged .65 on their punt snaps). I believe the highest I have ever encountered a 60.61 by Kasey Kelleher at VEGAS XXIX. The 12 finalists at VEGAS XXIX all had above 50’s on their RSI and that was a record. A 30 is usually pretty darn solid.

Please Note: The RSI is not completely how your Rubio Long Snapping ranking will be calculated as there are many factors to being a great Long Snapper. The main things that each Long Snapper will be ranked on are the following:

Speed (should be less than .75 for a 15 yard punt snap)
Accuracy (all snaps should be in The Rubio Zone)
Consistency (a college coach is going to want to see how consistent you are with your speed…if you can snap a .75, your snaps should be right around there, well, consistently)
Mentality (how well do you handle pressure)
Athleticism (do you move well or does it look like you are in pain when moving)
Size (an ideal Long Snapper would be about 6’3″ and 235)
Spiral (does the ball look pretty, slice through the wind and easy to catch)
Blocking (will you be able to withstand a major college rush)

Recap of the TX Summer Camp (6/30/2017)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to TX on June 30, 2017 for their Summer camp. Rubio Long Snapping will be traveling the country this summer instructing Long Snappers and getting them all ready for the season and beyond!

Karsten Battles (Speed Champion) and John Raines (Overall Champion)

The next stop for Rubio Long Snapping will be the FBU TOP GUN Camp (July 7-8), North Carolina (July 9), Georgia (July 11), Illinois (July 13), College Camp (July 14-16), New Jersey (July 15), TOP 12 Camp (July 17-19), Underclassmen Invitational (July 20-21) and California (July 27)!

Long Snappers from TX, KS, LA, S, FL OK, OH, NM, AR, CO, MN, NY & CA all traveled to this camp to get the best instruction and exposure in the world of long snapping.

The overall camp champion was John Raines of MS. Raines got fire in the afternoon and hit three after three after three to claim the title of champion! His form is good and he was snapping with some good pop back to the punter. He also came in second place in the speed competition! Easily one of the best days Raines has had in front of me. Very impressed and so will college coaches if he continues at this pace.

The finals were between Karsten Battles (86.96), Zach Edwards (57.33), John Raines (53.42), Hayden Hood (50.65), Evan Gibson (40.74) and Nate McCormack (26.26). The full finals video can be seen below…

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS

Karsten Battles

Karsten Battles absolutely destroyed the RSI beating the previous high RSI score by over 20 points. He literally scored every single point you could and averaged under .70 for each snap! Battles ended up being the overall speed champ of the camp. This kid is ready for college…NOW!

Zach Edwards is one of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class and he crushed the agility section of the camp. Form is very good and when he is on, he is really on. Very close to greatness.

Evan Gibson looked very smooth and strong throughout the day in TX. Confidence is starting to come along nicely and his accuracy is solid. Always improving and the kid is a workhorse.

Cole Voyles was impressive in TX with good speed and solid hip movement through the agility section. Built long and has room to put on some good weight over the next year.

Dillon Hayes showed good accuracy and consistency. Really driving his chest through will pick up his speed and make him a top Long Snapper.

Tre Rubio was snapping pearls all day long in TX. Form is good and his spiral is on point. Very impressed with Tre’s improvement over the last year.

Tyler Springer showed great athleticism and quick hands getting the ball back to the punter.

Notables: Freddy Barnes, Ryan Jurczak, Marshall Ballard, Grayson Broussard

TOP 2019 LONG SNAPPERS

Hayden Hood

Hayden Hood is beyond athletic and snaps a powerful ball back to the punter. When he is on, he is very on. Great speed on his ball with very little wasted movement makes Hayden one of the best in his class.

Enzo Anthony has great form and is one of the best lefties in the country. Growing really well and his athleticism is picking up nicely. Ball can pop back to the punter with good power.

Caden Bolz did really well in TX. Power is solid and he is snapping the ball consistently in the mid to high .7s. Some slight tweaks to his form will really increase his overall accuracy and consistency. Great start to Caden.

Nate McCormack is coming along nicely with good pop and some speeds in the low .8s. Extending out a bit will really help increase the speed of the ball and move him way up the rankings. Good improvement and I like the direction he is headed.

Chad Wolf is a Long Snapper with great size and potential. Consistency is solid and his speeds are in the high .7s. Sky is the limit for Wolf.

Notables: Austin Adams, Chase Crabtree, Hudson Brown, Izeya Floyd, Landon Sleeper, Max Murry, John Farris, Tyler Hanes

TOP 2020 LONG SNAPPERS

Blake Hooker

Blake Hooker was solid all day in TX. Form is very good and so is his attitude. His hands are really quick and he can already snap, consistently, in the mid .7s. Great upside and always improving.

Ethan Wells was snapping with some good heat all day in TX. Athletically, he does really well and is definitely going to be a factor on the punt coverage team. Pop is very good for his size.

Phillip Bourque has good starting form and lots of potential. I like the way he is exploding and he is getting stronger. Really driving through will increase his overall speed and accuracy. Very good attitude.

John Bergeron showed solid consistency and a good attitude. Always improving.

Nick Wagner has good form, quick hands and solid upside. Moved really well on his feet and is a great athlete on the punt team.

Notables: Zach Clore, Cooper Frazier, Jackson McFarland, Luke Malone, Nolan Pope

TOP 2021 and BEYOND LONG SNAPPERS

JT Sleeper

JT Sleeper showed excellent power and very good form. The less he thinks and the harder he snaps, the better he will be in the long run.

Zach Stricker is a solid athlete that moved really well on his feet and snapped with good consistency.

Recap of the TX Spring Camp (3/26/17)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to TX on March 26th, 2017 for their spring camp. Rubio Long Snapping will be traveling the country this spring instructing Long Snappers and getting them all ready for the 2nd biggest event of the year (the largest is our January Vegas Event), VEGAS 30!

The next stop for Rubio Long Snapping will be Arizona and New Jersey on April 9th, April 23 in Illinois and April 30th in Georgia.

This was the fourth Rubio Long Snapping regional camp that featured the RSI Testing to track a Long Snappers progress throughout the year and it was an overwhelming success. You can find out more about this new format HERE and the RSI’s from this actual camp already posted HERE

Champion Dillon Hayes

Long Snappers from TX, AR, OK, LA, CT, ID, IL, MS, KS all traveled to get the best instruction and the most exposure possible for Long Snapping.

The overall camp champion was Dillon Hayes! Dillon is coming off several days of private lessons in Idaho and you can tell it definitely paid off. He was smooth, accurate, VERY consistent and handles pressure like, well, a champion. This is his second victory in a row as Dillon also was crowned the champion of VEGAS XXIX!  His victory earned him a free admission to VEGAS 30 on May 13-14!

You can see the full finals (Jax Wilson, Karsten Battles, Dillon Hayes, Jake Pagel, Trevor Fleming, Chris Clore) below ….

TOP 2017 LONG SNAPPERS

Jake Pagel

Jake Pagel left no doubt he is just a flat out stud when snapping the ball. His hands are some of the quickest I have seen and it shows with the speed of his ball as it is rarely above .75. He will do great at Texas A&M.

Drew Wise was on fire throughout the day as he prepares to head to Missouri in the summer. Body is big and he throws a ton of heat on the ball. Love the direction he is headed and he is always improving.

Noah Caldwell looked very solid. Body is thicker and he was snapping with good power. Form is good and his hands are like rockets.

Caleb Cantrell is headed to Wyoming and he left no doubt he can succeed there with his quick hands and great form. Love his attitude.

Chris Clore is a large Long Snapper with tons of intelligence and great form. When he is reaching back all the way and snapping hard, there are few that are better.

Trevor Fleming made it to the finals and got at the right time. Good form and I like his attitude. Moved well on his feet and handles pressure well. Well done to Grambling State getting Trevor.

Notables: Pierce Warn, Andrew Morrison, Dillon Hall

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS

Karsten Battles

Karsten Battles had a great day in TX. He is big, powerful and snaps a great ball back to the punter. Almost ended up winning the whole thing and I don’t think it will be long until he claims a championship of his own. Lots of upside and he just keeps getting better.

Zach Edwards is one of the smoothest and most consistent Long Snappers in his class. Major athlete and he just keeps getting better. Hands are rockets and the ball is at college level speed right now!

John Raines was throwing incredible heat all day in TX. Form is good and he is using his whole body really well. Love his improvement and if he can get his spiral locked down at VEGAS 30 in May, he could easily be a TOP 12 Camp member.

Evan Gibson continues to improve and impress me. Moving well on his feet and snapping with confidence. The harder he snaps, the better he does. Great attitude and upside.

Tre Rubio had a great camp and has done an incredible job of improving over the years. Ball is VERY smooth  and extremely catchable. Tight spiral and his form is almost perfect.

Jax Wilson had the highest RSI score of the camp and is absolutely dripping with potential. MASSIVE human being that could easily find himself on a college roster for Long Snapping if he focuses on his form and being more consistent. Incredible talent.

Cole Voyles is long, lean and dripping with potential. I love the upside on this kid from TX. Keep a very close eye on him at VEGAS 30.

Tyler Springer threw some great snaps throughout the day and was always snapping sub .75. He definitely has the ability to snap at the next level and can be a TOP 12 member with some more accuracy.

Turner Pallisard is a strong Long Snapper that practically looks like a college tight end right now. Potential is off the charts and his consistency will be the thing that makes or breaks him at VEGAS 30.

Notables: Brayden Adams, Grayson Broussard, Jack Fisher, Justin Hutyra, Ryan Rey, Chris Stoneking,

TOP 2019 LONG SNAPPERS

Hayden Hood

Hayden Hood was exceptional all day in TX. His snaps were absolutely screaming back to the punter and the kid moves well on his feet. Smoothing out his snapping motion will help in the long run but he is already on his way to greatness.

Luke Rizzo is coming along very nicely. He is thick and strong with quick hands. he can really whip the ball back to the punter. His snaps are consistently in the .7s and just getting faster. Great upside on Rizzo.

Samuel Wiesbrook has a lot of potential on his very long body. Has a frame that could easily put on 50 lbs over the next couple of years. His snaps are quick and he has tons of upside.

Braedy Wilson showed me some great movement on his feet and consistent snaps. Putting on some size will be huge for him as we get ready for VEGAS 30 and beyond.

Jay Dempsey has a nice frame, quick hands and moves well on his feet. Athletic with tons of potential.

Landon Sleeper has good form, a powerful body and a good attitude. Hard worker that will make a college coach happy in the long run

Notables: John Farris, Nate McCormack, David Medrano, Max Murry, Chad Wolf

TOP 2020 LONG SNAPPERS AND BEYOND…

Blake Hooker

Blake Hooker looked VERY solid in TX. He was snapping with confidence and his ball was zipping back to the punter. Never even saw him snap a ball above .80 all day. Great day for Hooker.

Eli Chism looks like he has grown a foot and put on some good weight. Definitely paying off with his snapping as this was the best I have seen him do at a camp. Great upside.

Oden Pierce is a 2021 Long Snapper with good length and lots of upside. Impressive throughout the day.

Haydon Wiginton continues to impress  me. He will be as good as he wants to be with his Long Snapping.

Phillip Bourque has good form, a great attitude and a thick body. He is always improving.

Notables: JT Sleeper, Johnny Bergeron, Zach Chlore, Jake Foggia, Coltin Knape, Alec Eckert, Jackson McFarland, Jake Eldridge, Thad Baker

KEY POINTS:
* My rankings are NOT done just from The Rubio Target and will always be announced when they are completed on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.)
* My rankings are NOT done from some mathematical formula.
* My rankings ARE done by me and my several select members of my senior staff. That is why they take a good amount of time. (Think of it this way, it takes MONTHS to build a Rolls Royce but only hours to build an average car)
* My rankings are based off of THIS blog I wrote about what makes a Long Snapper great.
* If you would like anything added to your profile page, simply email me (Rubio@RubioLongSnapping.com) the information and consider it done.
* All Long Snappers are ranked after their first fall camp of their freshman year in high school.

A Long Snapper has the ability to adjust their ranking anytime I see them LIVE, not on video.

Drew Wise

Drew Wise was on fire all day long and was actually my horse to win the whole thing. His snaps are very fast and tight. Ball just sticks to the punter’s hands when he catches a snap from Drew. He has excellent size and a tremendous attitude. College coaches should take a very hard look at Drew!

Noah Caldwell looked impressive in TX. Snaps were solid and had good speed. I really liked how smooth and relaxed he was throughout all the day.

John Davis moved well on his feet and was really accurate with his snaps all day. Locking down his spiral and snapping full speed puts him over the top.

Chris Clore is really getting his body in great shop and snapping with good speed and confidence. Locking down his spiral will move him way up.

Jarrod Jacobson has a great frame and form. Uses his body well and gets very good speed on the ball

Caleb Cantrell snaps well under pressure and is very accurate!

Steven Taylor did really well in TX. Ball is VERY smooth and he can easily be one of the most accurate Long Snappers in the country. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Taylor go very far in the finals at VEGAS XXIX.

Hunter Thiem is a very raw Long Snapper with a lot of potential. He moves well on his feet and is built well.

Notables: Justyce Hankins and Joe Smith

Top 2018 Long Snappers

Zach Edwards

Zach Edwards

Zach Edwards was tremendous out in TX. Kid is a PURE athlete that might have the fastest snaps in the country. Zach’s snaps absolutely rocket back to the punter to the point of almost looking fake. He could take the top spot in the country at VEGAS XXIX.

Ron Gaines was very solid in TX. Large Long Snapper with footwork that is definitely improving. Love to see him focus on continuing to improve his athleticism and making sure he is just a tad quicker out of the gate to speed up the overall snap speed.

John Raines was great all day. Looked very polished and was snapping with a good amount of confidence. Made it to the finals and could have easily taken home the championship.

Karsten Battles is absolutely dripping with potential and could easily be one of the top kids in his class. Great frame and he can rip the ball back to the punter. Moves well on his feet. This kid literally did not miss getting points on The Rubio Target….INCREDIBLE!!!

Evan Gibson looked very solid in TX. He is a really accurate Long Snapper that can catch a groove. Consistent and smooth.

Tre Rubio is coming along nicely and is always improving. Rubio (no relation) has some very quick hands that really get the ball out of the gate well.

Grayson Yeager is dripping with potential and could easily fight for a TOP 12 Camp spot at VEGAS XXIX. Great frame and he snaps a smooth ball.

Chandler Moses is a strong Long Snapper with great upside. Raw and can be a top kid in his class…..easily. Will be fun to watch him compete at VEGAS XXIX.

Stephen Elmore handles pressure really well and has solid accuracy.

Top 2019 Long Snappers

Hayden Hood

Hayden Hood left no doubt he was the best 2019 Long Snapper at the TX camp. He moves really well on his feet and is a true athlete. He can really rip the ball back to the punter with times in the low .7s at times. Consistency of speed will be a major thing I am looking for at VEGAS XXIX.

Luke Rizzo is an athletic Long Snapper with good, raw power. Snapping with confidence will make him dominate at VEGAS XXIX.

Landon Sleeper is a strong and consistent Long Snapper with good potential and a great attitude.

Notables: Chad Wolf, Max Murry, Izeya Floyd, John Farris, Ross Arroyo

Top 2020 Long Snappers and beyond….

Ethan Wells

Ethan Wells

Ethan Wells was excellent all day in TX. He is a very consistent Long Snapper with great explosion and the ability to get the ball in the low .80s. I really like his attitude and the way he snaps the ball. Ethan could easily take the top spot in his class with a good performance at VEGAS XXIX.

Blake Hooker has great consistency and I like his attitude. Strength and power will help him a ton at VEGAS XXIX and beyond.

Phillip Bourque looked good with solid consistency and nice form.

Haydon Wiginton has great form for his age and I like the length of his frame.

JT Sleeper is big, powerful and oozing with potential.

Zachary Clore is overflowing with potential. He is built VERY long and already has some great form. Keep an eye out for Clore over the next couple of years.

Recap of the TX Summer Camp (7/7/16)

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to Texas on July 7th, 2016 for their summer camp. Rubio Long Snapping will be back in Texas on December 4th. You can register for that event HERE.

Long Snappers from TX, LA, MS, SC, KS, OK & NM all traveled to learn from the best instruction and the most exposure drew-wise6289possible for Long Snapping.

The overall camp champion was DREW WISE (KS, ’17)! Drew was absolutely on fire all day long and was actually my horse going into the finals. Unlike many before him, the pressure of being “chosen” as the horse did not impact him and he was dominant. He barely lost the accuracy portion, came back to win the speed competition and was nails in the overall. He has great size and snaps a D1 ball right now. Consistency will be huge for him as we head into the TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE camp!

2017

jake-pagel6287Jake Pagel (TX) had a good ending to the camp. He has some of the quickest hands you will see in his class and the ball rockets back to the punter. Body is thick and he can hover in the high .6s for punts.

Caleb Cantrell (TX) was excellent all day long. He has some very quick hands and the ball really rips back to the punter. Love to see some more size on him and completely lock down the spiral. He is a very solid Long Snapper.

Reeves Blankenship (LA) had waves of brilliance in TX. When he is on, he is REALLY on. Incredible size and I love the upside on this kid from LA. Keep a very close eye on him. It is all about to click for Reeves.

Joseph Cotton (AZ) was solid in TX. Built long and has a frame that will be incredible in college. Ball can pop back to the punter. Needs to focus on not dragging the ball and making sure he is using all of his lower to get more consistent speed on the ball. Major upside on Joe.

NOTABLES: Noah Caldwell, Steven Taylor, Dominic Brocato, Jarrod Jacobson, Justyce Hankins

2018

evan-gibson6264Evan Gibson (LA) had a great day in TX. Body is strong and he is getting bigger. Hovers right in the low .8s but it is all starting to click for him now. Keep a very close eye on Evan as we get close to VEGAS XXIX.

Hunter Burson (NM) has good form and I like his attitude. He is almost there. Listens well and is coming along nicely. He can do this.

John Raines (MS) has seemed to have found his spiral and that is going to help a lot. His hands are quick and the ball seems to just appear to the punter. Good upside.

Dillon Hayes (MS) has excellent form and is coachable. Uses his whole body well and will dominate with more confidence.

Tre Rubio (TX) has improved a ton over the past year and looks to just keep heading up. Body is getting stronger and his ball can hover in the high .7s. More athleticism and power will move him him up even more.

Karsten Battles (TX) can pass an eyeball test from 50 yards away and is absolutely dripping with potential. Very athletic and built well. CONSISTENCY will be key for Battles moving up by XXIX.

Notables: Braden Thibodeaux, Austin Ortega, Chris Logan

2019hayden-hood7288

Hayden Hood (TX) quickly separated himself to show the TX camp that he was, by far, the best 2019 Long Snapper in attendance. Kid can fly downfield and is a definite factor in punt coverage. Hips are very solid. Form is coming along nicely and he is headed toward growth. Watch him.

Nate McCormack (TX) handles pressure very well and has great form. Starting to grow which is going to be great for him but bad for the rest of his class. Great attitude.

2020

IMG_0526Blake Hooker (TX) has been with Rubio Long Snapping for quite some time and it is quite apparent. Form is excellent and he is already starting to separate himself from the pack. Great attitude and listens well.

Rubio Long Snapping traveled to TX on December 13th for their fall camp. The camp had the most talent, from top to bottom, of any Texas camp I have ever had in the last ten years.

Long Snappers came out from TX, KS, LA, CO, AZ, OH, MO, PA, MI, OK, AR, NM and even CA to learn from the best and get the most exposure possible for Long Snapping.

The overall winner of the camp was EVENT ELITE member Travis Arroyo (TX, ’16). Travis is a massive Long Snapper with great athleticism, good flexibility and great form. Wonderful attitude and demeanor as well. So large and powerful that he might be able to play two positions in college as he is quite the dominant lineman.

TOP 2016 LONG SNAPPERS:

Geron Eatherly was the best 2016 Long Snapper in attendance. He is BEYOND smooth and accurate. ALWAYS is either in the finals or right next to them. Very accurate and he is gaining some good size. He will be a great pickup for a college coach.

  • Dylan Alexander

    Dylan Alexander

Dylan Alexander was VERY impressive in TX. Long time Rubio Long Snapper that has really improved over the past year. Was snapping in the .6s. Looking very solid right now.

  • Alex Edwards continues to move up the ladder and get better. Power is solid and he is built thick.
  • Kolin Hayes showed very good accuracy and poise.
  • Conner Hemphill has some of the quickest hands in the country. Lots of potential.
  • Greg Royal might be the smoothest Long Snapper in the country. Very accurate
  • James Kozachenkzo can snap the ball with great power and accuracy. CONSISTENCY will be the next hurdle. Watch him.

TOP 2017 LONG SNAPPERS:

    Kyle Gibbs

Kyle Gibbs showed me some absolute raw power in TX. Came out from CA and didn’t disappoint. Kid’s hands are like rockets. He is almost “there”

  • Jeremiah Riordan is really moving up the ladder lately. You can tell he has been working on his overall form. Looking very solid. I would be VERY surprised to see him not dominate VEGAS XXVII.
  • Jake Pagel is just a flat out machine with his snapping. He is always great and just keeps getting better. Silent assassin.
  • Drew Wise has TONS of upside and can get the ball moving quickly back to the punter. Watch him closely at VEGAS XXVII.

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS:

Zach Edwards made a very strong case to be the #1 Long Snapper for the country in his class. Body is coming along nicely and he has tremendous form. Kid can rip the ball back to the punter. Doesn’t say much, but doesn’t need to. I am very interested to see how he does in VEGAS with a little more pressure thrown at him.

  • Randen Plattner

    Randen Plattner

Randen Platter was VERY accurate and handled pressure well. Solid frame that will be able to hold more weight. Good kid.

  • Luke Rizzo

TOP 2016 LONG SNAPPERS:

    Logan Klusman

Logan Klusman was tremendous all day in TX with snap speeds continuously in the .6s and even dipping into the .5s. He is a D1 Long Snapper.

  • Geron Eatherly did as he always does…snaps a perfect, smooth ball that is right on target. VERY good Long Snapper.
  • Alex Edwards has great form and was snapping rockets all day long. Love his confidence.
  • IV Seacat looked solid as he was snapping punts and pats. Little tweaks will make him flat out tremendous.
  • Bradey Sorenson was terrific at times. Smoothing out the overall package will make him incredible.

TOP 2017 LONG SNAPPERS

    Thomas Fletcher

Thomas Fletcher was smooth, efficient and on fire during the whole day in Texas. When he lowers his butt and really snaps the ball hard, there is no one even close.

  • Jake Pagel was snapping fire all day long. Kid is VERY good and definitely someone to watch in his class.
  • Drew Wise showed me waves of brilliance and I know he can do this at the next level.

Article & Rankings from the Rubio Long Snapping Camp in TX

TX PosterThe rankings are completed for ALL Long Snappers that participated in the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in TX on March 15th!

Champion Aaron Blaylock

Champion Aaron Blaylock

Long Snappers came out from FL, IA, CA, MO, MS, CO, AR, KS, NE, LA and TX to get the best instruction and most exposure for Long Snappers in the country.

Next ranking opportunities will be at the Rubio Long Snapping spring camps in NC on March 28TH and GA on March 29th.

The overall winner of the camp was Aaron Blaylock. Blaylock came on very strong in the end and was snapping with a great deal of confidence. Very proud of how far he has come in the past year.

TOP 2015 LONG SNAPPER

Boudreaux, Tyler

  •   Tyler Boudreaux – He is a very good size and has a nice, solid frame.    When he is on, he is really on. His form is exceptional and he needs to    realize it by snapping full speed all of the time. Consistent, great snaps  will help him a ton in the long run; no more waves of brilliance. I just to  see one dominant snap after another. THIS KID HAS POTENTIAL.

TOP 2016 LONG SNAPPERS

Eatherly, Geron

  •  Geron Eatherly -He could easily be the most accurate and consistent Long Snapper in his class. Need to see him lower his butt just a tad more and make his hands a bit quicker. Should be solely focused on winning VEGAS XXVI and getting to a 5 Star Rubio Long Snapper. Both goals are easily obtainable. VERY good kid and will make a college coach really happy in the future.
  •  Greg Royal – He has a great frame and is one of the smoothest Long  Snappers in his class. Royal needs to make sure he follows through and  snaps the ball with full power on  all punt snaps. His form is good and he needs to trust it. He has VERY  high potential. Keep a very close eye  on him at VEGAS XXVI.
  • Parker Robinson – He is built strong and uses his power well. I would love to see him lock down his spiral  and focus on getting his eyes through quickly at all times. Parker is always improving and should be looked  at on the weekend of VEGAS XXVI.
  • Logan Klusman –  Klusman is bordering on full domination and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen at  VEGAS XXVI. He is big, strong and snaps with great power. He is very athletic. He also needs to make sure  he always follows completely through. His power is very good. Keep a very, very close eye on him for the  next couple of months.
  • Dylan Alexander –  When he snaps as hard as he possibly can, he is tremendous. He has good form and he  needs to trust it and just let the ball go. Dylan makes good use of his whole body when he is snapping the  ball. He is always improving. Athletically, he runs hard but needs to gain some control of his body when he  is going forward and laterally. This kid has a VERY good attitude.
  • Travis Arroyo -STRONG is an understatement. Excellent movement and flexibility for someone his size. When he snaps as hard as he physically can, he is unstoppable. Great attitude and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him win the whole event at VEGAS XXVI. Coming into his own at the right time.
  • Jon Letter – Form is darn near flawless and he is definitely one of those Long Snappers that is always improving. Love to see him snap with full power at all times. He has increased his body size and it (along with his great form) is helping a ton. REALLY want to see him focus on locking down his spiral. The ball is quick but if it has a heavy wobble on it, the punter will have a great deal of difficulty catching the snap. Once spiral is locked down, he will move way up the charts and his speed will increase, my bet is, into the .6s for a punt snap. POTENTIAL.

Notables: Bleu Willis, Eric Ryan, Alex Edwards, Cooper Cox & Tristan Thompson

TOP 2017 LONG SNAPPERS

Pagel, Jake

  • Jake Pagel – Pagel really stepped up his game and dominated the Rubio Long Snapping spring camp in TX. He absolutely explodes when he snaps the ball. There is tons of promise for this Long Snapper from TX. He has great form and lets the ball rip out of the gate. I would keep a VERY close eye on him at VEGAS XXVI. He could easily challenge for the top spot.
  • Reeves Blankenship – Reeves has a great frame and looks like a D1 athlete already at this point and he is only a sophomore. He is big framed and I would like to see him widen out a bit more to make sure he can use all of his frame without being cramped. There are tons of upsides with him. I would keep an eye on him at VEGAS XXVI.
  • Jacob Rubenstein – His form is great and he keeps improving. I would love to see his eyes be a little quicker and really explode with his body.  This kid is filled with potential.
  • Caleb Cantrell – Big jump for Caleb and well deserved after what I saw at the Rubio Long Snapping spring camp in TX. I love his starting form and the way he explodes with his upper body. This kid has power. His form is good. The more he trusts it, the better he will be in the long run. He can dip into the .7s and if he gets his lower half involved I can’t see him not hitting in the .6s by VEGAS XXVI.
  • Chris Clore – He is a large man that has the ability to snap a very quick ball when he just lets it go. Clore’s form is good and he needs to trust it and his strength. He has TONS of potential. He needs to keep himself leaning back, and that will help all aspects of his snapping. I will be looking for athleticism and hard snapping from him at VEGAS XXVI and beyond. Chris has a good attitude.

Notables: Jordan Silver

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS & FUTURE STARS

Edwards, Zach

  •  Zach Edwards – Zach is coming along VERY nicely. His form is looking exceptional and he is already  snapping in the .8s at 15 yards. I would like to see him extend his arms to create more whip. He is  extremely close to already having his legs be fully involved in the process. This kid is dripping with  potential and could be the next great one. Watch him.
  •  John Raines – Raines is built long and has great form already for his age. He really uses his lower half well.  The bigger and stronger he gets, the better he will be. He has TONS of potential and could easily take the  top spot by VEGAS XXVI.
  • Tre Rubio – His form is excellent for his age. He has come a long with his form and is always improving. The bigger and stronger he gets the better he will be. Rubio has tons of potential since he is so coachable. Watch him. His hands are quick. Locking down his spiral will help a ton in the long run.
