Camp Champion Oscar Shadley

The overall champion of the camp was Oscar Shadley (FL, ‘18). The current #1 Long Snapper in the country and Virginia Tech commit has had quite the week. Friday, he received his Army All-American jersey and on Sunday, he dominated the GA Camp. He is thick, strong, moves well on his feet and is smooth with his snapping motion. Ball jumps out of the gate well and can easily be under. 75. Handles pressure very well and is beyond accurate.

Long Snappers from GA, TN, LA, AL, MA, SC, FL TX, MS, IL, NJ, KY & KS all traveled to his camp to get the best instruction and exposure in the world of Long Snapping.

Here are the RSI Scores from the GA Camp…
The finals, which could be the most talented group of Long Snappers I have seen in a finals, were Drew Little (59.72), Oscar Shadley (54.79), Quentin Skinner (50.00), Jacob Zuhr (46.58), Doug McLaughlin (41.56) and JC Vega (40.91)

TOP 2018 LONG SNAPPERS

Oscar Shadley

Oscar Shadley had a great day in GA. Looks ready for college right now, let alone in one year. He has zero wasted movement with his snapping motion. Very smooth Long Snapper that can continue on for as long as he wants

Cade Long looked exceptional in GA. He is thickening up well and snaps one of the smoothest balls in the country. It is a joy to watch him snap a 15 yard snap as each one is exactly the same. Smart Long Snapper.

Cade Long

Evan Dvorchik came up from FL and left no doubt he is one of the top Long Snappers in his class. His ball has picked up some good speed and he is always improving. Love his attitude and the more athletic Evan becomes, the more dominant he will be.

John Raines can snap some severe heat and has some of the quickest hands in the country. His hands are so quick it can be hard to time him. Body is looking solid and he continues to be on his way to greatness.

Evan Dvorchik

Payton Dunagan looked very sharp with punt snap times consistently in the .7s. Flexibility is off the charts and he continues to improve. Best I have seen Payton look!

Trey Corley was solid in GA. Body is great and he can easily pass an eyeball test. When Trey is on, he is very on and can easily snap at the next level. The more Trey can drive his upper body through, the more dominant he becomes.
Sam DeLuke is big, solid and has a great attitude. Powerful Long Snapper that can easily get the ball sub .75 when he is on. Great upside.

TOP 2019 LONG SNAPPERS

Quentin Skinner

Quentin “Mad Dog” Skinner was an absolute machine in GA. He is thick, powerful and very strong. Zero wasted movement with his snapping motion. Easily can get punt snaps well under .75. Mad Dog is the best Long Snapper in the country and with his consistency, I don’t see that changing soon.

Drew Little was exceptional in GA. I have seen him many times and this was easily the most dominant I have seen Drew. Body is solid and he has a fluid snapping motion that allows the ball to just appear in the punter’s hands. Drew is never stagnant and always improving. NC State got a good one.

Drew Little

JC Vega was snapping absolute fire all day long and was the overall speed champion with times in the low .6s! The ball was actually picking up speed along the way and was so fast, you could hear it humming. Body is muscular and the kid is a pure athlete.

Christian Johnstone was solid in GA. Body is good and he can pass an eyeball test quickly. Consistent Long Snapper with great upside. The more he drives his upper body through, the more college ready he becomes.
Griffin Kaye had a great day in GA. Athletic Long Snapper that can San the ball with some good heat on the ball. Fluid snapping motion and speeds sub .75. Very excited to see him at VEGAS XXXI.
William Wagner had a great day in GA. Body is thick and he has lost some weight. Body is looking good and he has improved his snapping. Best I have seen Wagner look and he seems poised to grab a TOP 12 spot at VEGAS XXXI.

Speed Champion JC Vega

Carson Knight was snapping some good heat and left no doubt he could be one of the top overall Long Snappers in his class. Love how he snaps with so much power and passion

Zach Lassiter is one of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class and is easily a factor on the punt coverage team. Locking down his spiral will be key in moving forward. Definitely could be a TOP 12er.
Doug McLaughlin made it to the finals again and proved he is one of the most consistent Long Snappers in his class. Very nice frame and he can pass an eyeball test quickly.
Mason Napper is thick, strong and powerful with a smooth snapping motion. The lower he gets his butt and the more he snaps with full power, the more dominant Napper becomes.
Cody Olszewski was smooth, accurate and consistent. Thick bodied.
Luke Payne continues to be one of the most accurate and consistent Long Snappers in his class. Every single snap for Payne is the exact same. Kid is like a machine. Strength is going to be huge for Payne as we continue to advance.
Nathan Tokar was smooth and accurate with good form and a thick, strong body. Driving his massive chest through will help his overall accuracy and speed.
Mark Fuchs is athletic, built well and has quick hands. Getting his legs to catch up to his hands will be key in getting his snaps ready for college level speeds. Great attitude and he works hard.
Notables: Jack Harrison, Ford Hayes, Nik Heino, Avery Kingston, Justin Wright, Graham Finklea

TOP 2020 LONG SNAPPERS

Jacob Zuhr

Jacob Zuhr was a machine all day in GA. He left absolutely no doubt he is the top sophomore Long Snapper in the country with a great attitude, tremendous handling of pressure and speeds that are ready for college right now. It is almost shocking to see just how good he is. Zuhr is flat out great and doesn’t seem to be letting up.

Zane McCracken is coming off an injury and looks to be headed right back to greatness. He has grown up and his body is looking solid. Driving his head through ad leaning back will be huge for McCracken.
Jake Foggia continue to impress me with his great form and how he is starting to handle pressure. Ball is getting faster and I like his attitude. Jake is always improving.

Zane McCracken

Jackson Worthen had a great day in GA. Form is excellent and he can be consistent with speeds sub .80 and even dip into the .6s! Locking down his accuracy and improving his athleticism will push him way up the rankings.

Blake Hooker came all the way from Texas and showed just how good he is within his class. Form is good and he has quick hands that will get his ball sub .80. Locking down his spiral will be a major key at VEGAS XXXI.
John Bergeron has great form and solid upside. Needs to make sure he is not aiming too far downfield when he is snapping the ball and that he snaps with great confidence at all times. Great attitude.
Miller Jones was smooth, accurate and can be one of the best Long Snappers in his class.
Will Albright has all of the tools to be a great one. True athlete that moves well on his feet and can pass an eyeball test quickly.
Notables: Will Benton, Colby Cox, William Long, Grant Reid, Jake Sayer, William Stewart, Brody Butler

TOP 2021 LONG SNAPPERS

Zach Taylor

Zach Taylor did really well in GA. His form is well beyond his years and he can even dip into the .7s when he is snapping with some great power on his punt snaps. Strength and confidence are going to be keys moving forward. Keep a close eye on Zach.

Kneeland Hibbett is smooth, accurate and snaps consistently in the mid to low .8s which is very good for his age. Really like Kneeland’s overall attitude.

Kneeland Hibbett

Holden Casperson showed me some good tings in GA. Solid accuracy and consistency make Holden one to keep an eye on over the next couple of years.

Josh Mullinix did well in GA. Consistency is good in the mid to high .8s. Need to see his spiral be locked down and he will dominate.
Jonathan Washburn might have been the most consistent freshman Long Snapper at the camp in GA. Each and every snap looks the same and I love it. Keep an eye on him at VEGAS XXXI.

RSI Scores from the GA Summer Camp (7/11/17)

Rubio Long Snapping camps will feature a shortened version of the VEGAS testing format. Once the Long Snapper has completed the test, they earn an RSI which is the fairest and most accurate way to judge a Long Snapper by numbers. Once you register, for a Rubio Long Snapping camp, a full, detailed explanation will be in your confirmation email.

Each Long Snapper will be tested on The Rubio Long Snapping Target with one snap per section instead of three. Meaning, you get one regular snap, one block left, one block right, and one speed for both punt snaps and short snaps to total eight snaps. Therefore, at the end of testing, the RSI will be tripled to reveal the participants’ RSI for that particular camp. Trust me, I do get that a Regional Camp RSI will not be the exact same as a VEGAS Event RSI for several reasons (length of test, pressure of Vegas, etc.) but it will pretty darn close and definitely fair.

The RSI is an excellent way for a participant to truly show how good of a Long Snapper they are as it balances the accuracy along with the speed of the ball, plus it will show how well the Long Snapper grows through each and every Rubio Long Snapping camp. Also, the RSI‘s will be posted on each Long Snappers profile after every camp they attend. Please note: the RSI does not account for athleticism, spiral or mentality.

RSI‘s can range from zero to basically 90 (if a Long Snapper was to get a score 48 points and averaged .65 on their punt snaps). The highest I have ever encountered is a 86.96 by Karsten Battles! The 12 finalists at VEGAS XXIX all had above 50’s on their RSI and that was a record. A 30 is usually pretty darn solid.

Please Note: The RSI is not completely how your Rubio Long Snapping ranking will be calculated as there are many factors to being a great Long Snapper. The main things that each Long Snapper will be ranked on are the following:

Speed (should be less than .75 for a 15 yard punt snap)
Accuracy (all snaps should be in The Rubio Zone)
Consistency (a college coach is going to want to see how consistent you are with your speed…if you can snap a .75, your snaps should be right around there, well, consistently)
Mentality (how well do you handle pressure)
Athleticism (do you move well or does it look like you are in pain when moving)
Size (an ideal Long Snapper would be about 6’3″ and 235)
Spiral (does the ball look pretty, slice through the wind and easy to catch)
Blocking (will you be able to withstand a major college rush)

  • Size (an ideal Long Snapper would be about 6’3″ and 235)
  • Spiral (does the ball look pretty, slice through the wind and easy to catch)
  • Blocking (will you be able to withstand a major college rush) If you have ever been to a Rubio Long Snapping Vegas Event, you know that one of the main parts of competition day is when each Long Snapper gets tested on The Rubio Long Snapping Target.
