VEGAS 49 CONTEST

Rubio Long Snapping is having a contest to win a FREE admission to VEGAS 49 on January 16-17, 2027!

WHO: Any Long Snapper from 7th grade to second year of Junior College that would like to attend VEGAS 49 for free.

WHAT: Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS 49 Gives Back!

Over the years we have seen some excellent examples of Rubio Long Snappers giving back to their community.  I want to see which Rubio Long Snappers are out there already volunteering their time, being active leaders in their community and, if you are not, why aren’t you and it is now time to get off your butts to do so!

For this contest, I would like to see which Long Snappers are involved in their local charities or actively volunteer across the world. You will need to submit a video entry, no longer than two minutes in length. Your video will have to be uploaded to YouTube with the title: Your Name, Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS 49 Gives Back, 2026.

Your video entry will have to clearly state who you are, where you are, what charity or volunteer organization you are involved in, and why you are passionate about volunteering with that specific group. 

The overall focus of the video should be why giving back is important to you.  It doesn’t matter who or what you support or how you give back, just show us why and how you do!  If you pick up trash off the beach on weekends, awesome, tell us why that is important to you.  Do you hand out meals or blankets to those in need, tell us why it is you started volunteering in that specific way.  This is not a competition to see who can give back the “best”.  We just want to encourage the ENTIRE Rubio Long Snapping family to get out and volunteer.  Don’t stress or put too much thought into it and do not feel bad if you’ve been slacking, simply get up and go!

This video does NOT need to be done with high tech cameras or anything like that as simply creating an edited iMovie on your iPhone would be more than sufficient to get your point across to the Rubio Long Snapping family.

WHEN: All entries must be submitted to me by email (Rubio@RubioLongSnapping) by October 1st at noon pst.

WHERE: All across the world!

WHY: To motivate and energize the Rubio Long Snapping family to get out and help their community and those around them.  The most inspiring video entry will earn a free admission to VEGAS 49!

This is how the winner will actually win….

The top three entries will be chosen by October 10th. Then, I will post the three different videos on the Rubio Long Snapping X account. Whichever gets the most views by October 16th at noon pst, wins!

Remember, Long Snapping can take you far in life, but giving back to your community will take you even farther!

 

Please Note: If you win the contest and are already registered for VEGAS 49, your free admission will be pushed to VEGAS 50 in May!

VEGAS XLIII Camp Location

VEGAS XLIII on January 14-15, 2024 will take place at Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, NV.

It is only about 4 miles from Downton Las Vegas (Fremont Street) and 8 miles from the Las Vegas Strip.

Remember, this camp is NOT an invite only camp. It is OPEN to all levels of Long Snappers from 8th graders to JC to Transfers.

The early registration deadline is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 18th at midnight pacific time. You can find out more information and how to register HERE

Friday, before the actual camp, we will also be holding a small group session to knock off the cobwebs, get used to the field and do some last minute fine tuning. You can find out more information and how to register HERE.

The Rubio Long Snapping Vegas Events are the top showcases for Long Snappers in the world as been proven time and time again. If you are a Long Snapper looking to get to the next level, this camp is for you.

Also, the VEGAS EVENTS are where the TOP 12 Invitees are given out so you must be in attendance to pick up one!

Each Long Snapper will receive top instruction, a Rubio Long Snapping shirt, TWO YouTube videos (one is snapping and one is athleticism), a player profile on RubioLongSnapping.com, an updated review on your player profile and a FULL two days of charting (snap speeds, 4o times, cone drills, L drills, etc)

The Polynesian Bowl

Rubio Long Snapping will be selecting a TOTAL of 14 All-Americans this year once again! Four of those of course are for the Polynesian Bowl (Class of 2023) on CBS Sports – 2 K/P/’s and 2 Long Snappers.

Q: HOW DO I QUALIFY TO BE A POLYNESIAN BOWL ALL-STAR THIS YEAR?

A: TWO STEPS!

  1. Get Selected to attend the TOP 12 Camp  

  2. Attend the TOP 12 Camp in July & Dominate

Let’s Break it down step by step.  . .

STEP #1:  Get Selected to attend the TOP 12 Camp 

Q: HOW DO YOU GET SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOP 12 Camp?

A1: Your best chance is to attend the January and/or May National Vegas Events.

At each of the Vegas Events (January & May), Rubio will select 20 athletes that dominated each camp and he feels could potentially be ready for the next level.

A2: Your other option is a gamble, but you could take a WILDCARD spot.

Apart from the 40 members selected from the Vegas events, Rubio will also have a maximum of FIVE Wild Card invites that he can give throughout the year. His choice. Any camp. All on Rubio and what he has seen and/or read about throughout the year.

STEP #2: Attend the TOP 12 Camp in July & Dominate

Q: WHAT IS THE TOP 12 CAMP?

A: Once you have been officially invited to the the TOP 12 Camp, you can register for the TOP 12 CAMP on our website.  

Rubio Long Snapping will run a 3-day camp in mid July loaded with competition and evaluation.  Based on performance, athletes will be selected to participate in final competitions to earn Polynesian Bowl All-Star selections.

*This camp IS mandatory to attend to become a Polynesian Bowl All-Star.

Rubio Long Snapping will rank ALL Participants based on performance at this camp.

May Vegas is a 2-day camp loaded with competition and evaluation.  Based on performance, athletes will be selected to make the “TOP 12” and attend the TOP 12 CAMP in July.

CONGRATULATIONS to these three fine young men! They deserve it.

Now is when it will really get intense. Each finalist is now required to provide the following.

  • No more than a 90 second updated highlight tape that shows great snap, incredible athleticism and possibly the Long Snapper speaking or even a coach/reporter speaking on the Long Snapper as well.  (on YouTube with the title of NAME, CHRIS RUBIO AWARD, 2017)
  • Three letters of recommendation (scanned and emailed to Rubio@RubioLongSnapping.com) from a current coach, a current teacher and a reporter that covers their area explaining why the Long Snapper deserves to win this prestigious award (that is THREE total letters).

All information must be sent to Rubio@RubioLongSnapping.com by noon pst on Friday, December 29th.

How Does the Voting Take Place?
A panel of voters assembled by the Chris Rubio selection committee will be voting. The panel will include: Chris Rubio, past and current NFL Long Snappers, past and current NCAA Long Snappers, past winners of the Chris Rubio Award (once they graduate from college), and Sports writers and columnists.

When?
August: A Watch List of 15 Long Snappers will be announced each year before the high school football season begins. The players on the Watch List were selected based on statistics from the previous season and upcoming season expectations. The eventual winner does NOT have to be on the Watch List to win the awards.

Mid December: Ten Semi-Finalists will be announced.

Late December: The Three Finalists are announced. The overall winner will be determined by total votes. 3 points (1st Place Vote), 2 points (2nd Place Vote), 1 Point (3rd Place Vote). In the case of a tie, Chris Rubio will break the tie with his vote.

January : The winner will be announced in Las Vegas on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the JW Marriott. The winner will be determined by total votes. 3 points (1st Place Vote), 2 points (2nd Place Vote), 1 Point (3rd Place Vote). This year, we are adding in a popular vote on a Twitter poll. The Long Snappers who wins the poll, will earn an additional first place vote!

In the case of a tie, Chris Rubio will break the tie with his vote.
