Rubio Long Snapping is, by far, the biggest and best resource for Long Snappers in the country. Rubio has been featured in the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the USA Today, Deadspin and countless other publications.

Offering the best instruction and most exposure in the world, Rubio Long Snapping can help you to become the best snapper you can be!

In just 16 years, Chris Rubio, President and Owner of Rubio Long Snapping, has become the #1 Long Snapping instructor in the country and the go-to man when a college coach needs a Long Snapper. Colleges from across the country rely on “Rubio’s” word day in and day out on who the best Long Snappers are in the country. Rubio Long Snapping has assisted in over 1,000 Long Snappers earning full scholarships and preferred walk-on opportunities to major colleges and universities just for Long Snapping and many into the NFL as well.

TOP 12 Camp

In order to create the maximum amount of targeted exposure for my Long Snappers, The TOP 12 Camp was adjusted last year.

At each of my Vegas Events (January and May), I will select 20 athletes that dominated each camp and I feel could potentially be ready for the next level.

I will also have a maximum of FIVE Wild Card invites each that we can give throughout the year. My choice. Any camp. All on me and what I have seen and/or read about throughout the year.

Curious as to what I am looking for in a Long Snapper, click HERE

Now, here is where things REALLY get interesting. During the summer, at The TOP 12 camp  (the term “Event Elite” is officially retired), not only will the athletes have to perform on the field, they will have to perform off the field as well. Each athlete will undergo a full interview process along with several meetings so that we can really grasp who they are and how they will handle the life of a college and/or pro athlete.

When a Long Snapper is announced on the Rubio Long Snapping Twitter account, they will now be part of an exclusive group. They will now receive a black TOP 12 shirt at their regions Rubio Long Snapping spring camp which they can wear at that camp, VEGAS XXXII in May and definitely at the TOP 12 Camp in July. At the end of the TOP 12 camp, when we unveil the TOP 12, each one of those campers will receive the elusive yellow shirt AND a special hoodie designed by Adidas specifically for those Long Snappers.

Stay with me here, The TOP 12 will be chosen at the end of the camp. They will be selected at individual meetings in a war room at the end of camp while the other Long Snappers will be waiting and feeling the pressure, wondering “How many spots are left?”

They will be selected by their mental and physical ability over the three days of the camp.

Now, we will REALLY get to see who are The TOP 12 of Rubio Long Snapping!

HERE are the 45 invited last year and below are the TOP 12 Long Snappers that made the cut!

VEGAS XXVI – Snap Speeds

Here are the snap speeds from the VEGAS XXVI Event on May 9-10, 2015. These are the averages of a 15 yard snap timed by Rubio. The clock starts as soon as ANY part of the Long Snapper moves and stops as soon as the ball makes contact with the “punter”

VEGAS XXVI (our May Event) is the second largest Long Snapping camp in the world. The first was VEGAS XXV in January. To truly say you are the best, you have to compete against the best.

New Rubio Long Snapping Target

Over the past decade, I have been using the Rubio Long Snapping Target at all my camps and events across the country.

At regional camps, the Long Snappers go through a bracket type competition while at my Vegas Events, they go through a much more intense full on testing format where they compete against all and not just one other Long Snapper.

At every camp, I have noticed the Long Snappers keep getting better and better (mostly because they are coming younger and younger) and, in turn, the scoring on The Target has gone through some major changes. Battles in the bracket style format go much quicker (not a lot of wasted opportunity) and the overall scores in Vegas have skyrocketed.

A top score in Vegas used to be in the low teens and not is not an uncommon to see high teens, low 20’s, high 20’s or even in the 30’s. This is just crazy. I mean really insane.

Finally, after speaking it over with Chris Sailer of Chris Sailer Kicking and some of my senior staff members, I have decided The Target needed to be revamped. This new target will make things a bit more difficult but I do believe it will give me more of a true feeling of the abilities of each and every Long Snapper that goes head to head with it. It won’t be about simply hitting the target. It will be about hitting the exact spots a Long Snapper should be hitting.

Scoring will also be adjusted with a 3 pointer will be only in red areas and 2 pointer only in yellow. No points for in between any more.

I know some (many) of you might be flipping out right now but I truly believe this is for the best and you will be fine. Trust me.

With no further adieu, I present to you, the new Rubio Long Snapping Target for the rest of 2014 (take some time to really inspect every aspect of it and it’s gloriousness) and beyond…..

April Fools Target
