Happy Ranksgiving to the Class of 2016 Long Snappers!

The rankings are completed for ALL 2016 Long Snappers that participated in the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in CA on February 23, 2014!

This class of Long Snappers has a very solid core group that will be battling for years to come. Great Long Snappers and people.

This group of Long Snappers were very solid with Tanner Carew making a statement that he is the best in the country.

Happy Ranksgiving to the Class of 2016 Long Snappers from the Vegas Event!

The rankings are completed for ALL 2016 Long Snappers that participated in the Rubio Long Snapping Event in Las Vegas!

This class is looking to be one of the deepest I have had in quite some time. These rankings took me a LONG time and a lot went into them. This class is full of just absolute studs and anyone can take the top spot by May Vegas!

This class is just starting out and a couple kids are already starting to shine. It is always fun to watch the young Long Snappers and how quickly things can change in the rankings over the years.

Big Day for the Rubio Long Snapping Family

As great as all of the signings were today (sorry if I exploded your social media feeds), it was what many of you didn’t see that really filled my heart (below are just a couple).

We all know that today, signing day, is a big deal (don’t worry, if you are a senior and you didn’t sign today, there is still A LOT of time left) but we also need to remember that it takes more than just the Long Snapper or me to make it all happen. True, some have much more control and power over the situation but it is all a massive group effort with family, coaches, friends, teammates, teachers, girlfriends and restaurants all chipping in. I salute everyone involved and can’t wait for it to keep on going for this class until August.

The last two are actually from college Rubio Long Snappers that just watched what happened today and embraced. It seems as though the Rubio Long Snapping family just continues to grow and support one another. LOVE IT!

Thank you, also, to everyone that had kind words today to me and my Long Snappers. It was definitely a great day for Rubio Long Snapping!

Highlight Videos for the Rubio Long Snapping Camps

Rubio Long Snapping is happy to announce that Highlight Videos will now be available for purchase for ALL of the Rubio Long Snapping Camps this spring and in Vegas! This is an incredible opportunity and will only be available to a limited number of Long Snappers, kickers and punters that reserve their video.  They are offering a rate of $150 for a video.  Here is how it will work:

1. You can preegister for this service by e-mailing info@VarsityTape.com with your contact info, which camp you will be attending and, this is important, if you are kicker or Long Snapper. The staff will get back to you, within 24 hours, with further instructions.

2. They are taking a LIMITED number of kickers, punter and Long Snappers. If you are interested, e-mail them immediately.

Below is an example of the videos. I am very impressed with the company and their services. If you choose to purchase a highlight video, the video will be yours to use as you see fit.  My recommendation: Email the video to coaches, add the video to your Rubio Long Snapping Player Ranking Profile, add the Video to your NCSA Player Profile and add it to your YouTube page.

Please note: you will still get the standard Rubio Long Snapping YouTube video at the camp. This video for sale is much more robust and powerful.

How to Contact the Shockley Family

As we all know, Rubio Long Snapping lost a member of it’s family yesterday when Scott Shockley passed away.

The outpouring of condolences have been amazing and I am truly seeing just how much of a family Rubio Long Snapping has become. From Twitter and Facebook alone, the support for the Shockley family is huge but many are asking what else they can do for the family.

I spoke with Scott’s father this morning and he said if anyone would like to send personal condolences, please send them by email or personal mail to:

Rubio Long Snapper Nate Hawkins Picks Up Offer to Air Force!

Rubio Long Snapper Nate Hawkins (OH, ’14) has been offered a scholarship to the Air Force Academy!

Nate has been on a major upswing since The Spring Event in Las Vegas in May where he was named an EVENT ELITE member. He has a great frame, incredible accuracy and just keeps improving.

There was some major jumps in the rankings with five new 5 Star Rubio Long Snappers (two were made on the weekend of the camp)!

Highlight Videos for ALL Summer Camps!

Rubio Long Snapping Family….UNITE!!!!

A while back I wrote about Rubio Long Snapper Scott Shockley and his battle with cancer. Shockley is a Long Snapper that graduated in 2012 and is currently in college at the University of Auburn. In high school, he was a three sport athlete who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in his right femur in May 2011.

He has had his ups and downs, but seems to be having some pretty tough times right now (as you will be able to note below) and I want to lift his spirits.

Rubio Long Snapper and TOP 12er Davis Winkie (GA, ’14) has picked up his first offer from Yale!

Davis is a massive Long Snapper that has always has the size and has recently fine-tuned his snapping making him one of the best in the country. He has great speed, a tremendous frame and a massive upside. Winkie has been with Rubio Long Snapping since 2011.

Rubio Long Snapper Liam McCullough Picks Up Another Offer!

Rubio Long Snapper Liam McCullough, aTOP 12 member, has been offered another full scholarship to Michigan St!

Just yesterday, Liam was offered a full scholarship to the University of Wisconsin so he has quite a 24 hour span. If Liam was to choose Michigan St. he would follow in Rubio Long Snapper Taybor Pepper’s shoes when he graduates.

Liam has been with Rubio Long Snapping for two years and has been dominant during that time. He has been snapping D1 speeds for quite some time now and, recently, has transformed his body into D1 size as well. The sky is the limit for Liam. He is big, snaps extremely well and is very coachable.

All-American Team

Starting this year, Rubio Long Snapping and Chris Sailer Kicking will be choosing an All-American Team!

We will be choosing 4 High School and 4 College All-Americans. We will also be choosing a Most Improved Kicker, Punter and Long Snapper for the year as well.

One of the best parts about these awards, besides the honor itself, is that they will be announced on Friday, January 17th in Las Vegas. Yup, that is the day before the world’s largest kicking, punting and Long Snapping event and everyone will be on hand for the ceremony.

Also, in Vegas on that same night, Herbalife 24 will be announcing the Chris Rubio Award and Chris Sailer Award for top High School Long Snapper and Kicker of the Year!

Therefore, instead of just a handful of lucky families being able to see the Chris Rubio and Chris Sailer Award presentations, there will now be hundreds. The awards ceremony will take place in a ballroom at the JW Marriott with the front tables being reserved for the finalists and their families, while the rest of the ballroom will be open seating and free to the public. Imagine the NFL draft in your head….that is what this will look like in Vegas.

Rubio Long Snapper Luke Hutchison Commits to Washington!

Rubio Long Snapper Luke Hutchison (WA, ’13) has committed to the University of Washington as a preferred walk-on!

UW has always been Luke’s first choice and it finally fell into place. He is definitely an example of a fourth wave of recruiting Long Snapper.

Luke has great size, a solid attitude and good form. Listens well and has the ability to do very well for the Huskies!

Top Ranked Rubio Long Snapper Tanner Carew Picks Up Offer AND Commits to Oregon!

The top ranked Rubio Long Snapper in the country, Tanner Carew (CA, ’14), has picked up an full scholarship offer from the Oregon Ducks and has committed!

Carew, who already has an offer from Colorado, is a TOP 12 Member, is beyond athletic and easily snaps D1 speeds at this point.

Congratulations once again to the #1 Long Snapper in the country, Tanner Carew, on his offer and commitment to the Oregon Ducks!

All-American List FILLED with Rubio Long Snappers

All four Long Snappers named to the Pre-Season All-American List put out by the heralded Phil Steele publication are Rubio Long Snappers!

The publication put out by Phil Steele is widely known as the number one resource for college athletics and highly respected throughout the world.

This is a huge honor for these Long Snappers, all of which were TOP 12 member, and Rubio Long Snapping. Having one nominated is good, having all four is PHENOMENAL!
