Top 2019 Long Snappers by Region

Here is a look at the TOP 2019 Long Snapper in each region of the country.

NORTHWEST (States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska)
Mike Zahara, WA
Super laid back kid. Didn’t get overly worked up about anything. Kept his cool and took instruction well. Thought it was a great sign from a kid of his age, not getting frazzled or frustrated. Really good form. Has long frame that can fill out nicely. Once he puts on some muscle and snaps hard, he will be great.

PACIFIC (California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii)
Simon Samarzich, CA
Simon had a good weekend at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He is a true athlete that can be as good, or great, as he chooses to be with his Long Snapping. Once he fully dedicates himself to snapping, he could easily take the top spot and run with it. Accuracy is solid and his form is excellent for his age. Handles pressure well and could have actually won the whole thing in the desert. Like to see some more speed on the ball and that will come with consistency of snapping motion and size. Tremendous potential on Simon.

SOUTHWEST (New Mexico and Texas)
Hayden Hood, TX
Hood was excellent at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in TX on July 7, 2016. He is one of the most athletic Long Snappers in his class and showed no mercy in TX. His confidence is starting to come along VERY nicely and I love it. Needs to make sure he is focus on gaining some size as that will assist him in blocking, getting down field and the overall speed of the ball. Kid is very good and just looks to get better. Keep a very close eye on him this fall and definitely at VEGAS XXIX.

NORTH CENTRAL (North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska)
Tyler Shaw, WI
Really liked what I saw out of Tyler at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in IL on July 9, 2016. He is a long athlete that is snapping with good power and confidence. Love to see him focus on leaning back more so he goes towards the punter and not up/forward. Falling forward will cause the ball to rise a bit and lose some accuracy. Kid has tremendous upside and can easily be one of the top Long Snappers in his class. WATCH HIM at VEGAS XXIX.

SOUTH CENTRAL (Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana)
Caden Bolz, KS
Caden did well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in TX on July 7, 2016. He is a thick and strong Long Snapper with good power in his hands. Ball is quick and he has no problem hovering in the .8s at all times. By VEGAS XXIX, I want to make sure he is getting his eyes/head all the way through as this will greatly increase the overall speed of the ball AND the accuracy. Kid is dripping with potential.

MID AMERICA (Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky)
Jude Pedrozo, OH
Jude continues to impress me and didn’t let up at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in IL on July 9, 2016. He can pass an eyeball test quickly and is snapping with a great deal of confidence. The upside on this kid is off the charts and he could make the TOP 12 in January if he continues to snap well. Overall accuracy and consistency is what I will be focused on seeing at VEGAS XXIX. He needs to know he can be one of the greats.

NORTHEAST (Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island)
Austin Sullivan, NY
I liked what I saw out of Austin at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He is very large Long Snapper for his age and has a good snapping motion. Very fluid Long Snapper. I like his form and I want him to trust it. If he was to trust his form and really let the ball fly, he will be able to get well under .90 by fall and definitely by XXIX in January. TONS OF POTENTIAL on Austin and when his legs get fully locked and timed up, he will dominate. LOVE HIS ATTITUDE.

ATLANTIC (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia)
Dominic Serapiglia, PA
Dominic did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping summer camp in NC on July 11, 2016. He is a thick and strong Long Snapper with good overall form. Ball is tight and he is showing some good accuracy. Like to see him increase the speed of his legs as they are just a tad behind his very quick hands. If he can get his timing locked down, he will be snapping under .77 by VEGAS XXIX…easily. Increasing his athleticism will push him way up the rankings as well. Good upside and always improving.

SOUTHEAST (Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida)
Quentin Skinner, GA
Skinner, AKA Mad Dog, had a solid weekend at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXVIII Event on May 21-22, 2016. He can EASILY snap a D1 ball right now when he is on. Every once in awhile, he will forget to follow through and the ball will die. If he can fix that, and I know he can, he can be a 5 Star Rubio Long Snapper by next Vegas if not sooner. CONSISTENCY will be his biggest thing to focus on.

A Guide For Rubio Long Snapping Parents on Game Day

As season starts, parents can tend to be filled with tons of emotions: joy, excitement, fear, nervousness, etc. All are normal and should be felt if your son is going to play on Friday, Saturday or even Sunday. Here are a couple of things to remember….

  1. You aren’t the first parent to go through this and you won’t be the last. Just like I tell my Long Snappers, if someone else has done it, so can you.
  2. Know that your son is well prepared. Odds are, if you are reading this, your son has been to a Rubio Long Snapping camp in the past couple months and got great instruction. Not only did he, but you did so as well. Remember when I brought you on the field? I don’t do that just because I want to spray with some people closer to my age. I do it so you can learn and teach your son when I am not around….and you have been doing that, right:)
  3. Review the mental aspect with your son before the game. Remind him, and yourself, that he, and you, are ready for this and he, and you, will dominate the moment.
  4. Make sure you hire someone else to film the game (one of your son’s friends or something….”Hey Johnny, here’s ten bucks, film the whole game, do it well, keep the camera on the Long Snapper and keep quiet”) so you can focus on the whole experience and not be stuck behind a camera seeing the game through a three inch screen.
  5. Prepare for the game with your son. After he snaps a great ball, you will want to give him signals to show him how great he did…thumbs up, big outstretched arms emulating a Rubio hug, blow him a kiss (get his lady friends involved).

Breathe. Have fun. Believe in your son. Have confidence in him. Trust me, it will overflow into him.

Enjoy every single moment you have with your children. This is an incredible time in your life and you need to embrace every single second of it.

Where Are They Now? Rubio Long Snapper Bobby Dunn

10304980_727548790637419_3270315977127620750_nFor the next installment of “Where Are They Now?” we head to Illinois to hear from Rubio Long Snapper Bobby Dunn who went to high school in IL, received a scholarship to the Air Force Academy and is heading toward becoming a DOCTOR!!!

1.  What is your current occupation?

I am currently in my 2nd year of medical school at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine as well as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve. After graduation I will commission as a captain in the Air Force as an active duty officer and serve as a physician.

2. Where do you live?

Carol Stream, Illinois.

3. Married/ Kids?

I recently got engaged to my beautiful fiancée Dominique in December. We will be getting married in May of 2018 after I finish medical school.

blob4. What is your fondest memory of your time playing college football?

My fondest memory of college football comes from a couple of early mornings in February before spring practices started. After the off season in the weight room the team takes part in “Cages.”. All of the players report down to the field house before breakfast and classes start to go through 2 hours of speed, agility and strength drills with all of the coaches. Although this was difficult and not particularly fun, it is my fondest memory because it was one of the rare times we as long snappers could compete directly with the rest of the players. At the end of the two day training there is a competition between starters and backups that is an “anything goes” 1 on 1 tug of war with a car tire. I think I enjoyed this so much because it was an opportunity to break the monotony of practices and show off our largely hidden athletic prowess as long snappers.

5. If you could give ONE bit of advice to the current Rubio Long Snappers, what would it be?

When choosing schools to apply to, and eventually a school to attend, try to choose a school that you could see yourself loving even if you were not playing football. Keep your dreams big and work your tail off to achieve them, just know at some point football will have to end. At that point it will be important to be somewhere with great friends and incredible opportunities.

6. If you could give ONE bit of advice to the current Rubio Long Snapping PARENTS, what would it be?

I think my parents did everything right and I appreciate everything they did along the way. The number one bit of advice I gathered from them is to ENJOY THE RIDE! Your sons will love you and appreciate everything that you do. At the end of each day make it known that you believe in them, you support them and most of all you love them no matter what happens with football.
7. When was the last time you snapped a ball and for what reason?

The last time I snapped a football was about a year and a half ago in Texas at a country music festival. Some buddies and I were tailgating outside of our tent and made some friends with the guys in the spot over. One of them turned out to have played college football and he had a hard time believing that I played Division 1 football as well. Luckily he had a football so I could prove myself. There was no stop watch there but I am confident that it was a persuasive demonstration of quality long snapping.

8.   If you could go back and play football in college again, would you go to the same school or a different one? Why?

I would absolutely choose to attend the Air Force Academy all over again. It was definitely a different college experience with some hard days, but overall I loved it. I met some of my best friends and enjoyed several unique experiences.

If there are any high school long snappers who have aspirations to serve our country and play college football at a high level you should consider one of the service academies. If you have any questions talk to Rubio and he can give you my contact information, I’d love to talk to you about it.

9. Any regrets during college? Something you wish you had done or maybe hadn’t?

I do not have any regrets during college. I had big dreams to play football all 4 years however I had even bigger dreams to attend medical school and be a military doctor. After a year of football my grades were not as competitive as I would have liked them to be, and unfortunately I had to give up football to keep up with my grades and military training. I absolutely would have loved to continue to play football longer but I know that I gave it my best shot and am happy how everything has turned out.

10.   What tremendous thing have you been a part of or experienced since you graduated?

I have been blessed with the incredible opportunity to stay in school and wait another 4 years to enter the real world. That itself is tremendous. Besides that I have wooed a great woman, become an uncle and been a mediocre participant in recreational basketball and softball leagues. Life is good!

Where Are They Now? Rubio Long Snapper Cary Kriegsman

AAEAAQAAAAAAAAcNAAAAJDM1MjM0M2QwLTc5ZmQtNDY3MC1iNWJhLWFjYzkzN2NjMDBjMAFor the next installment of “Where Are They Now?” we head to San Francisco to hear from Rubio Long Snapper Cary Kriegsman who went to high school in Southern California, went to Cal Berkeley and is dominating the adult life….

1.  What is your current occupation?

I work for the investment management firm BlackRock, where I am responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with public and private pensions in the US and Canada Institutional sales team.

2. Where do you live?

San Francisco

3. Married/ Kids?

No

4. What is your fondest memory of your time playing college football?

On the field, my fondest memory was when I joined the team mid-Fall camp (as I was supposed to grey shirt my first Fall, but the backup snapper went down, so I was called up) and a few weeks later I was running through the LA Coliseum tunnel to play USC in the stadium I used to watch games at with my family.

Off the field, my fondest memories are the times spent in the locker room with my best friends (some of the funniest and most entertaining by far) as well as pushing through the toughest off-season workouts (especially 6ams…).

5. If you could give ONE bit of advice to the current Rubio Long Snappers, what would it be?

I’ll give you two:

1) Focus on your mental game just as hard as you do on your physical game. This can be through visualizations, breathing exercises, sports psychology, or film (all of which helped me). People overlook the mental game, which really sets one snapper apart from another.

2)  Your two main priorities should be school and long snapping. A commitment to both will get you to where you want to be, both during and post college. I worked my tail off in high school to get the opportunity to play for Cal. If I didn’t fully commit myself to snapping on a daily basis, I wouldn’t have been able to play college football. If I didn’t fully commit myself to academics on a daily basis, I definitely wouldn’t have gotten accepted into Berkeley. Making a commitment to both allowed me to have the amazing experiences and opportunities I had at Cal.

6. If you could give ONE bit of advice to the current Rubio Long Snapping PARENTS, what would it be?

Support your son, and don’t be overbearing. My parents helped guide my focus in the right direction, but it was ultimately my own choice on whether I wanted to fully commit myself to snapping or not.

I will forever be indebted to my Mom who was the only mother at our time to warm up their son and catch his snaps at Rubio camps. If that doesn’t scream support, here’s another example: I (accidently) broke her finger during a snapping drill in High School, but she continued to catch my snaps a few weeks after this happened. Thanks again Mom!

331031_2130949644643_712539449_o7. When was the last time you snapped a ball and for what reason?

My coworkers had me snap a football down our office hallway a few months ago. Requests like these come around more than you can imagine.

8.   If you could go back and play football in college again, would you go to the same school or a different one? Why?

I would 100% go to the same school. Cal Berkeley had everything that I wanted: academics and Pac-12 Football. It’s hard to get the opportunity to be recruited to a Division 1 school, but once you do get this opportunity, you realize it’s even harder to get the opportunity to start and play. If things don’t go your way on the field for various reasons, you still have your academics to lean on.

Side Note: I cannot echo Rubio’s advice enough: Never Pick A School Based Off Of Coaches. In my time at Cal, I had 2 Head Coaches, 3 Head Strength coaches, 2 Special Teams Coordinators, and 2 Athletic Directors. There was not one single staff member that was there from when I began my college career to when I ended it.

9. Any regrets during college? Something you wish you had done or maybe hadn’t?

No regrets

10.   What tremendous thing have you been a part of or experienced since you graduated?

After graduating, I went on a two-month solo European backpacking trip, where I went to 16 different countries and stayed in hostels. It was completely out of my comfort zone, but turned out being the best decision and experience of my life.

How to Get an Unofficial Recruiting Trip

Ask. Seriously, that is all you have to do . Call the football office (THE PLAYER CALLS) and say the following when they answer…
“Hi, my name is ___________ and I am a Rubio Long Snapper in the class of ____. (if you want to brag about your ranking, here is where you would do it). I am very interested in going to, and being recruited by,  _____(insert name of school)_____. I am looking to get put on the UNOFFICIAL RECRUIT LIST for your game vs. __________. What is the next step?”
At this point, they will most likely ask you some basic questions…(Name again, school, address, etc.). Answer them all because then you will be in their database and start getting more stuff from the school. Please note: if this is done during the off-season, you simply tell them what day(s) you will be on campus and they will do the rest. Couple Points….
  • The difference between an OFFICIAL RECRUITING TRIP and an UNOFFICIAL RECRUITING TRIP is that the athlete pays his way on the UNOFFICIAL RECRUITING TRIP
  • You can take AS MANY unofficial recruiting trips as you’d like. You are only allowed five official recruiting trips.
  • The bigger the game, the bigger the recruit you have to be in order to get those tickets. If you are not an absolute stud, you most likely won’t get a big time rivalry game.
  • You can start this process anytime, but usually sophomore year is good to let it rain.
  • Dress accordingly. Look clean and presentable. Rubio Long Snapping shirt or sweatshirt is always a good choice.
  • If you are too thin, wear thermals. If you are too heavy, wear something that fits well. If you are built well, wear something tight to show off what you got. Unofficial visits are a good way for a coach to see if you pass the eyeball test. Make sure you pass.
  • If parents go with the athlete, make sure the parents have a lot of taffy in their mouths so they don’t speak. Remember, the coach doesn’t want to hear from the parents. He wants to hear from the athlete.

Article & Rankings for the Class of 2015 Long Snappers & Future Stars from the IL Camp (4/12)

The rankings are completed for 2015 Long Snappers that participated in the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camps in IL!

KEY POINTS:

  • My rankings are NOT done just from The Rubio Target
  • My rankings are NOT done from some mathematical formula.
  • My rankings ARE done by me and only me. That is why they take a good amount of time. (Think of it this way, it takes MONTHS to build a Rolls Royce but only hours to build an average car)
  • My rankings are based off of this blog I wrote about what makes a Long Snapper great.
  • If you would like anything added to your profile page, simply email me ([email protected]) the information and consider it done.
  • All Long Snappers are ranked after their first fall camp of their freshman year in high school.

A Long Snapper has the ability to adjust their ranking anytime I see them LIVE, not on video.

For the profiles section, simply go to RubioLongSnapping.com. click PLAYER PROFILES, click which class, click LONG SNAPPERS and find your name.

What Coaches Will Ask a Recruit

Everyone always wants to know the key questions a coach will ask their son/daughter when they are getting recruited and the truth is, it’s the basics…

  • “So, what’s up?”
  • “How is school?”
  • “How is the weather?”
  • “How are your grades?”
  • “Would you be interested in coming to _____________ to get your degree and play some football?”

Right now, you are thinking “this is a joke, Rubio.” No, it is not. The coach is not looking to solve the world’s problems by speaking to your kid. He is simply trying to see if your kid is a moron or not.

Seriously.

They just want to hear the athlete speak, make sure he/she is not an idiot and someone that can operate on their own without mommy/daddy speaking for them.

So, you want to prep your kid? Just speak to them.

Rubio Long Snapper Aaron Brewer Gets New NFL Contract

Aaron Brewer

Brewer…..way back in the day

Former top ranked (class of 2008) Rubio Long Snapper Aaron Brewer has just signed a four year contract extension the Denver Broncos.

This will be Brewer’s fourth year with the team and he is expected to make $4 million dollars with a $740,000 signing bonus!

Brewer is also a member of the selection committee for The Chris Rubio Award choosing the top high school Long Snapper in the country.

Funny story is that when Brewer was a junior in high school, I remember speaking with his father after a lesson. It went something like this….

Rubio “Your kid is coming along very nicely Mr. Brewer”

Mr. Brewer “You really think so? We weren’t too sure about this. Not sure if this will work out for Aaron out of high school”

Rubio “Trust me. Brewer’s got it. He will definitely get a scholarship. No doubt in my mind”

Mr. Brewer “Seriously! Ok, whatever you say Rubio”

A couple months later, Brewer signed with San Diego State. Four years later, he signed with the Denver Broncos. Seven years later, he signs a four million dollar contract:)

5 Key Points for the Class of 2015 Long Snappers

  • You still have a long way to go with recruiting. Breathe, relax, take a chill pill. Read THIS ten more times. Laminate it. Memorize it. Breathe. Every single year, I will have a couple Long Snappers get picked up in August of their senior year. Yes, the August that is about 8 months from now. TONS will happen between the time you read this and August. Like I always tell everyone, this is probably your first time going through the recruitment of a Long Snapper…just think of how many times I have done it.
  • You should be attending every single Rubio Long Snapping camp this spring that is near you (yes, VEGAS XXVI as well)….just like normal. Those that take their foot off the gas because “they are committed” end up really struggling as they enter college. Trust me, I have seen it hundreds of times. Nothing will piss off a coach more than recruiting a kid and he isn’t VERY ready when he steps on campus.
  • In the summer, you should attend the Rubio Long Snapping College Camp for College Long Snappers to see how really compare to Long Snappers that are already in college. Welcome to the real world my friends.
  • Be someone to be followed and lead by example. Don’t be the guy that future Long Snappers ask “What ever happened to ________ and why didn’t he ever pan out?”
  • Be SMART and end your high school career strong. Be nice to everyone on the way out and be ready to move on.

PS….DO NOT EVEN THINK YOU SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR MY STAFF UNTIL YOU HAVE PROVEN YOURSELF IN COLLEGE. Until you arrive on your college campus, you should be busting your butt so you can dominate at the next level. Doing well in high school is one thing, doing well in college and in the NFL is a whole new ball game.

ASK RUBIO – Redshirting in High School? Best Looking on 90210? Potential NFL Long Snappers? Liking Sailer?

Dear Rubio…

1) What are your thoughts about holding back/red shirting a high school student athlete for the sole purposes of giving them an edge athletically against their peers? 2) Also I need your 90210 expertise to settle an argument, Valerie right? (Tiffani Amber Thiessen)
JustStartingOut

-JustStartingOut….
Kelly-Kapowski-Pictures
It would depend on when you hold the athlete back. If it is done sooner in life, I feel that is better. When you get into the high school years, it could really mess with their demeanor as they will be losing a lot of friends at that point. Bottom line, if you are going to do it, do it EARLY.

As for the 90210 question (great one by the way), I have to go with Valerie (Tiffany Amber Theissen). How could I not after her dominant performance as Kelly Kapowski on the hit TV show Saved by the Bell!??!?!? The lady was one of my first crushes (as I have a feeling I speak for millions of other men my age as well that grew up in the 80’s and 90’s)

Dear Rubio….

You have explained to us how you are able to recognized college long snappers out of high schoolers, but what do you see in college snappers to be potential NFL Long snappers? Also, how can a snapper adjust to be a more appealing prospect?
-BGSU Long Snapper

Christian Yount

–BGSU Long Snapper….
There are a couple differences between a college Long Snapper and an NFL Long Snapper: Size (NFL Long Snappers usually are right around the 240+ range), Accuracy (an NFL Long Snapper might not always be the fastest Long Snapper you have ever seen but they should RARELY, and I mean RARELY miss….think two out of 100) and Blocking. The last point, blocking, is a massive aspect that kills a lot of guys chances at the next level because they either never did it in college (thank you spread formation) and can’t get used to it quickly by the pro day. The speed jump from high school to college is quadrupled from college to the NFL. Not being able to keep up with that jump is what kills hopes and dreams of a college Long Snapper trying to make the NFL.

At the Rubio Long Snapping College as well as the NFL Free Agent Camp, we will work on blocking a ton to make sure each Long Snapper is a more appealing prospect.

Dear Rubio….

Sailer and Rubio at UCLADid you like Sailer when you guys played together at UCLA?
-WonderingMomma

-WonderingMomma….
Yes, I actually did BECAUSE he never acted like a “kicker” 🙂 He would get back, do his little step thingy and kick the ball. IF he missed, he would never blame me (not that he could, I was throwing pearls back there) and just go to the next kick. He had very much a lineman attitude and, ironically, used to always hang out with me and the lineman.

Rubio Long Snappers in The National Championship Game!

Haynes, BryceIt seems that every single year, there is a Rubio Long Snapper in The National Championship game and this year BOTH teams will have one!

To make it even more interesting, both will have a former #1 Rubio Long Snapper.

Bryce Haynes, The Ohio State Long Snapper, was my #1 for the class of 2011. He has been extremely dominant throughout his career at Ohio St. with his academics and athletics.

Carew, TannerTanner Carew, The Oregon Ducks Long Snapper, was my #1 for the class of 2014. He has started as a true freshman and already recorded several tackles. He was also an Army All-American last year.

Also on the Oregon Ducks, you will find Rubio Long Snappers Devin Melendez and Connor Johnson.

You know me, I am pulling for a tie game with a lot of punt snaps but I am betting that won’t be the case. I guess I will have to settle for several pat and field goal snaps.

Congratulations to these fine young men and their respective teams. May the best team win!

VEGAS EVENT - 2014VEGAS EVENTS

As you know, the Vegas Events are the biggest and best Long Snapping camps in the world. They are truly a national event to see how you compete against the best in the nation, and world. The May Event, or VEGAS XXVI, is the second largest Long Snapping camp we run (VEGAS XXV in January is the biggest). The main difference is the weather and there are less seniors since many have already stepped onto their college campuses for their next stage of their life.

The Vegas Events are NOT an invite only camp. They are first come, first served. Long Snappers ranging from 8th grade – JC are allowed to attend.

This is the SUPER BOWL for Long Snappers. No other kicking event comes close to the exposure offered by the National Snapping Events. Rubio Long Snapping is, by far, the most credible recruiting source for Long Snappers in the country. The “TOP 12” and “EVENT ELITE” is the list to be on if you are seeking national exposure. From the Vegas Events, the Rubio Long Snapping Staff will select the “TOP 12” Seniors/JC & the “TOP 12” Underclassman (January) and “Event Elite” (May). Over 90% of the “TOP 12” have received full ride D1A scholarships in the past. Over 99% members of the “TOP 12” have gone on to play college football. In addition the “TOP 12” Underclassman will be invited to attend an exclusive summer camp to train and compete amongst that elite group.  The Competition Finals Round Winners (FG, Punt, and LS) will receive FREE Rubio Long Snapping Camps for 1 FULL YEAR. (Excludes transportation and Hotel). The Vegas Events offer the best exposure possible for Long Snappers. Rubio Long Snapping have personal relationships with over 100 D1A Universities and many more at other levels. This is your chance to get recognized on a national scale. Rubio Long Snapping work very closely with Scout.com, Rivals.com, Espn.com, etc. and have also been featured in Sports Illustrated, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Deadspin, etc.

TOP GUN groupFBU CAMPS

For the second year in a row, Rubio Long Snapping and Chris Sailer Kicking will be teaming up with FBU to run their specialists portions of their camps. FBU is the world’s largest football training service and has hired us to handle their Long Snapping section. It is an honor and we are proud to do it again. It is a top notch organization that benefits countless athletes across the country.

This year, Rubio Long Snapping will be running more camps in order to hit more areas around the country. To be able to do this, I will only be at certain locations. The locations in italics are camps that I will personally be at this spring and summer. Those not in italics, will have two senior Rubio Long Snapping instructors in attendance (staff members that have been with me for well over 30 camps). They will follow the same format as myself and report directly to FBU and yours truly.

We will be choosing the two Long Snappers that will participate in the US ARMY ALL-AMERICAN BOWL at the FBU TOP GUN CAMP in Ohio on July 16-18. Chris Sailer Kicking will also be selecting the East Bay Youth All-American for the Class of 2019 (Freshman All-American Bowl) and 2020 (8th Grade All-American Bowl) at the FBU TOP GUN CAMP in Ohio on July 16-18. You MUST be invited to the TOP GUN camp by performing well at one of the regional camps prior to the TOP GUN Camp. Bottom line, you will have to do well at one of the camps, that the Chris Sailer Kicking staff  is in attendance at, to pick up an invite from myself and/or one of my senior instructors.

You will need a code to register for an FBU camp, and since you are a Rubio Long Snapper, you will have it right now: CR15. Use this code to register now for an FBU camp as they will sell out.

Christian YountNFL FREE AGENT CAMP

  • March 3, CA

You (the specialists) asked for it, you got it. They (NFL coaches) asked for it, they got it. As you know, Chris Sailer and myself have always run the biggest and best exposure camps for high school Long Snappers and kickers. Now it is time for us to move completely into the NFL realm to give the needed exposure to our college athletes.

Chris Sailer and myself have been asked COUNTLESS times to run a free agent camp since it is something that has been lacking for quite some time in the world of specialists. It is now time. This one day camp will be a showcase for NFL coaches. There will be little coaching (you shouldn’t need a ton if you are at this camp) as this camp will all be about exposure. NFL coaches and personnel will be on hand to personally see the Long Snappers in action.

In order to attend this camp, you must be out of college and be eligible for the NFL draft.

You can register for the NFL Free Agent camp HERE (spots will be limited)

Rubio, Saban and SailerCOLLEGE CAMPS

TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE CAMP

This camp is open ONLY to those invited personally by Chris Rubio. You are chosen to attend this camp by performing extremely well at either the January or May National Snapping Events in Las Vegas. Do NOT sign up for this camp unless you have been formally invited by  Rubio. Former “TOP 12” and “EVENT ELITE” members includes countless college and NFL players, All-Americans, NFL Pro Bowlers and Super Bowl participants.

Top 12 and Event Elite - 2014Some Long Snapping “TOP 12” Alumni: Christian Yount (Cleveland Browns), Justin Drescher (New Orleans Saints), Aaron Brewer (Denver Broncos), Jon Weeks (Houston Texans) to name a few.

The “TOP 12” is chosen after the January Event (VEGAS XXV) and the “EVENT ELITE” is chosen after the spring Event (VEGAS XXVI). There are obviously 12 chosen for the “TOP 12” and there is no set number for the “EVENT ELITE”. Those that deserve it and are top of their class in May, get chosen…it could be one, it could be 20.

The success rate of those we have been selected in the past that go on to play college football (most on scholarship) is over 95%.

Invites go out after each Vegas Event.

Underclassmen Invite Event - 2014UNDERCLASSMEN INVITE EVENT

You will almost think of this Event as a baby TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE Camp. This two day event is a camp that Rubio Long Snapping will be completely gearing towards the athletes and their parents/guardians. This camp is meant to not only get the athletes headed in the right direction in the beginning of their high school careers, but also the parents as well. It will provide information regarding nutrition, social media, recruiting, film, education and, of course, on field instruction. This event is just as much for the parents/guardians as it is the athletes!

College recruiting for Long Snappers is finally getting where it needs to be. Scholarships are being offered earlier and earlier each year. Early exposure is necessary these days. The Rubio Long Snapping Underclassmen “Invite Only” Event is the perfect opportunity to make a name for yourself and solidify your national ranking at the perfect time. The middle of the summer is now the time college coaches build their underclassmen lists. You want to be on that list. This camp will get you there. It is also your first opportunity to prove that you are a “TOP 12” candidate in your class. The camp is set for early July for a reason, college coaches asked us to do this. They want the inside track early. Don’t be surprised to see more and more underclassmen offered during the season in the near future.

There will be formal meetings/classroom sessions on individual topics such as: Training (what level is right for the underclassmen athlete, how often, proper techniques), Nutrition and Lifting (Good habits, bad habits), Social Media (Setting up and using the proper social media outlets – this has become a must), Filming (proper angles, techniques, times, set up), Education (the importance of it, standards, year by year plan)

Invites go out in May.

Rubio Long Snapper Owen Gilbert Picks Up Offer

Gilbert, OwenRubio Long Snapper Owen Gilbert (IN, ’15) has picked up a preferred walk-on offer from Indiana St!

He texted me that “…thank you for all the help you’ve given me over the past two years. I’ve been training hard and I’m looking forward to Vegas!” ARE YOU?

Owen did a great job at the Rubio Long Snapping fall camp in IL. Really like his power and how strong he is when he is snapping the ball. Needs to make sure he leans back, a lot, and definitely gets his hands releasing at the same point to get some solid accuracy on each and every snap. Right on the cusp of greatness. Can hit in the .6s when he is snapping the ball to the punter. Consistency will be huge for him at VEGAS XXV.

Congratulations to Owen and his family!
